摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent variation in dimensional accuracy and deterioration in magnetic properties for a long period of time by treating the surface of a rare earth element-iron permanent magnet with coating agent whose effective ingredient are titanium compounds fluorine-containing alkyl groups. CONSTITUTION:A rare earth element-iron permanent magnet is of permanent magnet powder or molded form for plastic magnet after iron-rare earth element, iron-transmission metal-rare earth element and boron are added and sintered and molded in a predetermined shape. Coating agent contains titanium compounds whose effective ingredients are fluorine-containing alkyl groups represented by general formulae I-III, VII, VIII and hydrated condensation polymer of compound represented by a formula I. In the formula Rf is 4-16C fluorine-containing alkyl group, R1 is H or 1-10C alkyl group, l is integer number of 1-4, R2 is formula CaF2a+1-Q-, where a is integer number of 4-20, and Q is coupling group of CaF2a+1- and oxygen. m is integer number of 1-2, n is integer number of 1-3, A is 1-12C alkyl group, B is 1,2 or 1,3-glycol group or oxycarbonic acid group, using solution or emulsion of these compounds.

摘要： PURPOSE:To protect the surface of a sintered or casted magnet with a corrosion- resistant film which is superb in adhesion strength and corrosion resistance by providing a nickel/phosphorus-plating film on a permanent magnet surface through a ground film of nickel plating. CONSTITUTION:Ni plating is performed on the surface of a rare-earth element iron permanent magnet and then Ni-P plating is performed. Furthermore, to reinforce resistance against chemicals, it is also effective that chromate treatment is performed onto the above Ni-P plating and chromium oxide film is used for coating. Also, it is recommended to add Ni-P-W plating to increase friction strength especially. In this case, it is also effective to perform chromate treatment to the upper surface and then coat the surface with chromium oxide film. Thus, a rare-earth element iron permanent magnet which easily becomes rusty is superb in corrosion-resistance effect and does not produce rust after long periods of use under a severe environment.

摘要： PURPOSE:To recover Nd in the form of fluoride in high yield, by dissolving Nd-Fe alloy scrap in a strong acid, filtering out insoluble substances, adding HF, NH4HF2, etc., to the filtrate to precipitate NdF3, and subjecting the resulting precipitate to separation by filtration and then to drying. CONSTITUTION:The scrap of an Nd-Fe alloy produced in a process for manufacturing an Nd-Fe-type permanent magnet is dissolved in a 4-5N strong hydrochloric acid, and then insoluble substances such as abrasives are separated by filtration. The filtrate is poured into a vessel free from attack by F and, after the liquor temp. is raised to 80-95 deg.C, an F source such as HF and NH4HF2 is added by the quantity 1.0-1.2 times the theoretical amount required for NdF3 formation to precipitate NdF3. The resulting precipitate is washed with water, neutralized, if necessary, by the addition of alkali, and then dried and burnt, by which Nd can be recovered in high yield.
