摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain powder characterized by high coercivity, large saturating magnetization, minute particles and excellent S.F.D. by forming the powder comprising the magnetic particles of dendrite metal whose main component is iron that is covered with polymer formed of silicone compound monomer whose particle surface is expressed by the specified general formula. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the particle of a silicone compound is expressed by the general formula (I):(R HSiO)a(R R SiO)b(R R R SiOy2)c. This powder comprises the magnetic particles of dendrite metal whose main component is iron that is covered with polymer formed of the silicone compound monomer. The powder is characterized by coercivity of 1,500Oe or higher, saturating magnetization of 155emu/g or more, major axis of 0.2mum or below and S.F.D. of 0.35 or below. In the formula, R , R , R , R , R or R is a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having the number of carbon atoms of 1-10 which can be substituted with at least one halogen atom. The character (a) or (b) is an integer of 0, 1 or more, respectively. The character (c) is 0 or 2. When (c) is 0, the sum of (a) and (b) is the integer of 3 or more.

CONSTITUTION:A powder is obtained in the following manner: needle ferric hydroxide particles or needle hematite particles obtained by heating and baking them are heated and reduced in a reducing gas; needle metal magnetic fine particles composed mainly of iron are formed; after that, they are brought, in a vapor phase, into contact with at least one kind out of silicone compound monomers expressed by the formula; the particles of the needle crystal metal magnetic fine particles composed mainly of iron is covered with a polymer formed of the silicone compound monomer; the particles are heated; the polymer on the particle surface is made dense; after that, the particles are oxidized. The powder is composed mainly of iron whose coercive force is 1500Oe or higher, whose saturation magnetization is 150emu/g or lower, whose S. F. D is 0.35 or less, whose resin adsorption amount is 4.0wt.% or larger and whose long axis is 0.2mum or less.

The powder is composed mainly of iron whose S. F. D. is 0.38 or lower, whose resin adsorption amount is 4.0wt.% or larger and whose long axis is 0.2mum or less.

In the formula, R -R represent hydrocarbon radical whose number of carbon atoms is 1-10 which can be mutually independently hydroogen atom or by at lest one of halogen atoms (wherein R -R can not be hydrogen atom at the same time; (a) and (b) are 0 or integer larger than or equal to 1; (c) is 0 or 2. Thereby needle crystal iron alloy magnetic grain powder, which has high coercive force and large saturation magnetization and is excellent in dispersion property and oxidation stability, can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the fusiform magnetic iron oxide particulate powder having uniform particle size, free of resinous particles, and having a large axial ratio by jointly using an alkali hydroxide, and specifying the ageing condition of an FeCO3-contg. slurry at the time of forming goethite particles by the reaction of an aq. alkali carbonate soln. with an aq. ferrous salt soln. CONSTITUTION:The FeCO3-contg. suspension formed by the reaction of an aq. alkali carbonate soln. with an aq. ferrous salt soln. is aged in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, an oxygen-contg. gas is passed through the suspension to oxidize the material, and fusiform goethite particulate powder is formed. In this case, the following constitution is used. Namely, 1-50% (expressed in terms of normality) of an aq. alkali hydroxide soln. is added to the aq. alkali carbonate soln., the FeCO3-contg. slurry or the FeCO3-contg. slurry being aged prior to oxidation so that the total amt. of the aq. alkali carbonate soln. and aq. alkali hydroxide soln. is adjusted to 1.1-2.5 equivalents with respect to the Fe + in the aq. ferrous salt soln. The ageing temp. is controlled to 30-60 deg.C, and the ageing time to 10-100min. The goethite particles thus obtained are treated to obtain fusiform magnetic iron oxide powder.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain the titled goethite particle powder having fine and uniform particle size and high axial ratio, by reacting an aqueous solution of a ferrous salt with an alkali metal carbonate and passing an oxygen-containing gas through the reaction mixture in the presence of a water-soluble tin salt in the reaction system. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution of a ferrous salt (e.g. aqueous solution of ferrous sulfate) is made to react with an alkali metal carbonate to obtain an aqueous solution containing FeCO3. An oxygen-containing gas (e.g. air) is passed through the obtained aqueous solution to oxidize the ferrous ion in the aqueous solution containing FeCO3. In the above procedure, a water-soluble tin salt (e.g. SnSO4) is added to the aqueous solution containing FeCO3 prior to the aeration with the oxygen-containing gas or added to an aqueous solution containing FeCO3 after starting the aeration with the oxygen-containing gas and before 20wt% of the ferrous ion is oxidized. The amount of the tin salt added to the solution is 0.1-10atom% based on Fe in terms of Sn. Fusiform goethite particle powder free from dendrite particle and having uniform particle size can be produced by this process.

Successively, the above geothite particles or hematite particles are heated and reduced under reducing gas to obtain the metallic magnetic particles containing the iron showing the spindle shape as the essential component, is obtd.
