    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and suitable lining material removing apparatus in a chimney for removing a lining material such as asbestos internally stuck to the inner surface of the chimney.
      SOLUTION: The lining material removing apparatus in the chimney includes an apparatus body 10 for removing the lining material 2, and a holding apparatus 20 for holding the whole apparatus in a center position in the chimney 1. The holding apparatus has an operating mechanism for driving arm groups 21 in two upper and lower stages, and the arm group in each stage. The operating mechanism includes a spring 45 for deploying each arm 22 of the arm group 21 in each stage radially outward, and a bidirectional cylinder 41 for returning each arm inside. The bidirectional cylinder is constituted to engage both upper and lower ends with pushers 44 respectively by the upward elongating operation of a rod 42 and to press and displace the pushers 44 against downward energizing force of the spring 45 to return each arm 22 inside.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for efficiently removing a lining material such as asbestos or the like from an existing chimney, and to provide a method using it. SOLUTION: As a rotary head 12, a preliminary head for removing the surface layer 2A of the lining material with bits attached so as to be storable inside the lining material 2 to be removed and a finishing head 12B attached with the bits 30 to further remove a lower layer 2B of the lining material after the removal of the surface layer are used. The finishing head is provided with a wire brush 40 for polishing the inner face of the chimney 1 after the removal of the lining material while the preliminary head and the finishing head can be selectively attached to the drive motor 13. After the removal of the surface layer 2A of the lining material in the preliminary work in the first place, the lower layer 2B of the lining material is further removed in the finishing work while the inner surface of the chimney is polished with the wire brush 40. The reinforcement cutting device A cuts the reinforcements 3 which are arranged in the crossing state in the chimney, while being lowered in the chimney by the hanging mechanism. The reinforcement cutting device is provided with a fly wheel plate 13 which is rotated in the cross section of the chimney; and a cutting bit 18, which goes around along an inner peripheral surface of the chimney so as to cut a base section of the reinforcement to be cut, is mounted on the undersurface side of the fly wheel plate. Removal bits 16 and 17 for removing a lining material mounted on the inner surface of the chimney are mounted in positions above the cutting bit, respectively.
