SOLUTION: The method of mounting a plurality of electromagnetic shield panels 1A and 1B to a metallic column is disclosed, each of the shield panels comprising a sheet panel base 2 and a steel plate 3 covering the front surface and the side surfaces of the panel base, with a finish 4 applied or affixed to the front surface of the steel plate 3 and a rust inhibitor 5 applied or affixed to the back surface of the plate. A horizontally extending retaining part 3b is formed on the outside of a side face of the steel plate 3. The rust inhibitor 5 on the retaining part 3b is peeled to insert a conductive gasket 7 between the retaining part 3b of an adjacent panel and the metallic column 6. Next, a retaining fitting 8 is set on the front side of the retaining part 3b and is secured to the metallic column 6 with mounting screws 9.

A recess groove part 3c is not formed, and may be fixed by a press fitting and a screw. In addition, in the case where a penetration pipe comprising the metal material such as aluminum is set on the building frame 1, a flange is provided on the outer periphery of the penetration pipe and the conductive strip body 4 may be connected. Thereby the electromagnetic wave shielding of the opening part can be easily attained.

The electromagnetic wave shielding layer 5 exhibits an electromagnetic wave shielding performance value of 30 dB or more with respect to an electromagnetic wave in a frequency band of 25 MHz to 20 GHz.
