    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen noise and oscillation of a motor by preventing a change in current in a coil of the motor when a switching element which drives the motor is switched from a cut-off state to a conduction state. SOLUTION: Driving signals for rotating a DC motor 22 at specified numbers of rotations are output to coils 23-25 of a plurality of phases of the DC motor 22 from switching elements Q1-Q6 in a plurality of stages respectively. To the switching elements Q1-Q6, drive controlling signals are input. At one level, the drive controlling signals make corresponding switching elements, for example, one of the transistors(Tr's) Q1-Q3, turn on and at the other level, they cut off the Tr Q4. In the drive controlling signals, conduction periods wherein the Tr's Q1-Q6 turn on and cut-off periods wherein the Tr's Q1-Q6 are cut off are provided alternately. In a first period of the conduction period which starts from a start timing point to a certain point, one levels and the other levels are repeated in a cycle which is shorter than the first period. In a second period which is the remaining period of the conduction period, the signals stay at one level.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device which eliminates on-duty limitation on a switching element which controls power supply to a load, and is capable of being efficiently switch-controlled. SOLUTION: This pulse width modulation load drive circuit is provided with a transistor 101 and a transistor 102. In accordance with a source-side control signal CNH, a transistor drive control circuit 103 turn on the transistor 101 to apply power to a load 111. In order to turn off the transistor 101, the transistor 102 is turned on by a transistor drive control circuit 104 which, when discharging a capacitor 106, operates in accordance with a sink-side control signal CNL. A voltage-sensing circuit 109 measures the voltage level of voltage VBS for driving the transistor drive circuit 103, and based on the result of the level detection, a refresh operation circuit 110 generates a refresh signal for on-controlling the transistor 102 only for a certain period of time. Thereby the transistor 102 is on/off-controlled by the transistor drive circuit 104, based on the sink-side control signal CNL and the refresh signal.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the breakdown of switching elements by excessive current, by interrupting drive signals outputted to the switching elements in a specified stage of a plurality of stages from a drive control means for a specified period of time, in correspondence with the inputting of a reverse signal into a delay means. CONSTITUTION: A driver 21 is provided with a delay circuit 32 into which a reverse signal is inputted from outside to reverse the direction of revolution of a motor 22. The delay circuit 32 delays the reverse signal by a specified period of time, and inputs it to a three-phase distributing circuit 30. Besides, the driver 21 is provided with a timer circuit 33 to which the reverse signal is inputted, and a forced turn-off circuit 34 arranged between the three-phase distributing circuit 30 and an inverter circuit 28. The timer circuit 33 measures a specified time from the point of time when the reverse signal is inputted, and outputs a completion signal to the forced turn-off circuit 34 at the point of time of the completion of this time measuring operation. Consequently, breakdown of transistors Q1 -Q6 can be prevented even when a reverse signal is inputted for reversing the revolution of the motor 22.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce stray capacitance between a motor and a conductive substance on the outside of a motor, and to prevent the malfunction and breakdown of a drive circuit by installing a PC board, on a surface of which components of the drive circuit are mounted, onto the top face or underside of a stator while the surface is directed toward the stator side. CONSTITUTION:A projecting piece 14 is set up onto the top face of a stator 12, a PC board 16, on a surface of which parts 18 constituting a drive circuit for a transistor, a resistor, etc., are arranged, is fitted to the projecting piece 14 so that the surface is directed toward the stator 12 side, and the stator 12, the PC board 16 and the components 18 are covered with a molding resin, thus configuring a casing for a motor 10. Accordingly, the parts 18 constituting the drive circuit are installed inside the motor 10 toward the stator 12 side, thus reducing stray capacitance between the motor 10 and a conductive body on the outside of the motor 10, then preventing the malfunction and breakdown of the drive circuit. The PC board 16 is formed in four layer structure, and two layers of the four layers are used as grounding patterns for a noise countermeasure, thus obviating a malfunction to noises.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect the switching elements and the like at an inverter section against damage when rotation of a motor is reversed due to an external force by detecting reversal of rotation of a rotor and deciding that a speed command value is equal to or lower than a set level and then turning all switching elements off based on a stop signal. SOLUTION: Reversal of rotation of a rotor 14 is detected at a reversal detecting section 50. A speed setting section 52 outputs a set speed V0 which is then compared, at a comparing section 54, with a speed command value V1 thus deciding that the speed command value V0 is lower than a set speed. A stop signal S is delivered when the rotor 14 is rotating reversely and the rotational speed command value V1 is lower than the set value V0 in order to turn off all transistors Tr1 -Tr6 . According to the arrangement, an inverter section 12 can be protected by preventing the switching elements and the like from being damaged with a current induced by an external force when rotation of the rotor 14 is reversed.
