    • PURPOSE:To increase the flowing current even when a sintered material, the main component of which is WC, is used for a contact part of an electrode in a method wherein either of a pair of electrodes is driven to contain a velocity component in the direction different from the turn-on direction of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum valve 20 is composed in such a manner that both end opening parts of an insulating tube 2 are airtightly sealed by end plates 3 and 4 so as to form a vacuum container 5 followed by arranging a pair of electrodes 6 and 7 therein in such a way that they can be freely contacted with or separate from each other. Then, a driving device 26 is driven, a movable current carrying shaft 21 is upwardly moved via a link 27, etc., and subsequently when it reaches the location immediately before the electrodes 6 and 7 are brought into contact with each other, a roller 24a of an engaging body 24 provided on a supporting frame body 23 hits and contacted with a contact surface 22a of a protruded part 22 provided on shaft 21. Accordingly, since the electrode 7 moves off the electrode 6 in the sideways direction, the opposing electrode surfaces are pressed and deformed by the protrusion part resulting in the increase in the contact area. Therefore, even when sintered material the main component of which is WC (tungusten carbide) is used, flowing current can be increased.

    • PURPOSE:To offer a small-sized gas laser oscillator whose structure is simple and whose oscillation efficiency is high by a method wherein at least one out of paired dielectrics arranged and installed near individual discharge electrodes is formed cylindrically and its inside is coated with a metal to form a discharge electrode. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical dielectric 11 is inserted into an outside wind tunnel 1; a second discharge electrode 13 is formed at its inside. The outside wind tunnel 1 itself can be made small; a gas laser oscillator can be made small-sized and its structure can be simplified. In addition, when the frequency of a high-frequency voltage to be applied across a first discharge electrode 6a and the second discharge electrode 13 is reduced, the reactance of an interconnection from a power supply to the electrodes is reduced and the interconnection is made easily. Since the inside of the cylindrical dielectric 11 is coated with a metal to form the second discharge electrode 13, a void is not formed between the dielectric 11 and the metal coating part. As a result, it is possible to prevent a partial electric discharge inside the void, and a uniform electric discharge can be obtained between dielectrics 7a, 11.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a gas laser device of high efficiency which can be controlled in operational state corresponding to the moisture content contained in a case by a method wherein the output signal of a moisture content detector which detects the concentration of H2O is transmitted to a control section, and a power supply is so constituted as to be controlled basing on the output signal concerned. CONSTITUTION:A moisture content detector 10 which detects the concentration of H2O contained in laser gas is provided inside a case 1. The moisture content contained in laser gas is constantly monitored by the moisture content detector 10 provided inside the case 1, and the detected data are transmitted to a control section 12 through a signal line 11. When the detected data transmitted from the moisture content detector 10 are higher than a set value that a stable discharge can be obtained, the control section 12 is so controlled as not to transmit an operation instruction to the power supply 5 considering that a gas laser device is in an abnormal state.

    • PURPOSE:To keep high reliability, and to improve current-limiting action by providing three vacuum valves on tops of a triangle, and by arranging a magnet between two tops for each, so as to form a closed circuit of a flux. CONSTITUTION:For a vacuum valve 20, a fixed side electrode 15 is larger enough than the diameter of an electrode 16 on a moving side, and vacuum valves 20A, 20B, 20C are provided on tops of a triangle, for the use in three- phase. A permanent magnet 11 is arranged between respectively adjacent two valves 20A and 20B, 20B and 20C, and 20A. The polarity of the magnet 11 is defined in such a way that a flux 12 generated by each magnet 11 passage through each electrode 15, 16 of the valves 20A, 20B, 20C, and becomes a continuous closed loop. The flux 12 orthogonally crosses a vacuum arc 13 generated between the electrodes 15 and 16, and a positive column is bent thereby. Arc voltage is thus elevated, and excellent current-limiting action can be obtained while high reliability is ensured.
