    • PURPOSE: To secure the full compliance to the dropwise delivery of ink by removing easily the air bubbles which have entered a common ink chamber and increasing the size of the common ink chamber. CONSTITUTION: A flow passage limiting hole 12 is formed close to a wall face 19a at a distance from the nozzle opening side of a common ink chamber 19, a dummy pressure producing chamber 4' is provided at the end part of the common ink chamber 19 and a plurality of flow passage limiting holes 12' are formed in communication with the dummy pressure producing chamber 4' and in the width direction of the common ink chamber 19. The ink near the wall face 19a is allowed to flow in a set direction away from the wall face and directed in a certain direction due to the resistance of the ink to adherence and air bubbles are carried off in this stream and from the flow passage limiting hole 12 they are sucked into the pressure producing chamber 4 and then dischaged to outside. Due to the formation of the plurality of the flow passage limiting holes 12 near the end part of the common ink chamber 19, even if the width in this region is increased, the stagnation of the ink is not caused.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejecting apparatus and a maintenance method thereof, capable of satisfactorily keeping moisture inside a cap for sealing a recording head before sealing the recording head with the cap.
      SOLUTION: The fluid ejecting apparatus includes a fluid ejecting head for ejecting a plurality of fluids having different concentration from a plurality of nozzles; the cap member disposed facing the fluid ejecting head, also, capable of coming in contact with the fluid ejecting head while surrounding the plurality of nozzles; a pre-halt processing part configured to bring the cap member in contact with the fluid ejecting head so as to halt the operation after the fluid is ejected into the cap member. The pre-halt processing part is configured to eject into the cap member, the low-concentration fluids (LC, LM) much more than the high-concentration fluids (B, C, M, Y) among the plurality of fluids.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of an ink bag, to certainly discharge ink and to accurately detect an ink end by providing a protruding piece extending to the outside from the outer edge of the ink bag and capable of coming into contact with the side wall of the case main body of the ink bag at its leading end to one side at least on the long side of an ink end detection plate. SOLUTION: An ink bag 10, an ink end detection plate 20 and a case main body 30 for housing them are provided in an ink cartridge 1, and a protruding piece 22 is formed to the long side on the side opposed to the long side having a detection piece 21 formed thereto of the ink end detection plate 20 so that the leading end thereof can come into contact with the wall side of the case main body 30 from the outer edge 12 of the ink bag 10. As a result, the upper surface of the ink bag 10 is fixed to the ink end detection plate 20 at the time of transport, etc., and, since the protruding piece 22 comes into contact with the side wall of the case main body 30 in extremely short displacement, the shaking thereof is suppressed. The ink in the ink bag is smoothly discharged by the ink detection plate 20 even in a state reduced in the amt. of ink and an ink end can be accurately detected.
