    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily, quickly and efficiently removing impurities such as nucleic acids, iron and proteins in a glycosaminoglycan fraction and a method for producing a large amount of glycosaminoglycan fraction free from the impurities. SOLUTION: The method for removing one or more substances selected from nucleic acids, iron and proteins in a glycosaminoglycan fraction contains (1) a step to contact a solution of the glycosaminoglycan fraction with activated carbon and (2) a step to separate the activated carbon contacted with the solution of the glycosaminoglycan fraction and collect the glycosaminoglycan fraction. The invention further provides a method containing the steps (1) and (2) and producing a glycosaminoglycan fraction having the following properties (a) to (c).
