    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable quick initialization for an infrared sensor by a method wherein an infrared detection part is provided with a chopper to cyclically interrupt infrared rays radiated from a food and when the closing of a power source and the opening of a door are detected, a chopper motor is driven or controlled for a specified time length. SOLUTION: In the operation of a microwave oven 100, when a power source is closed, it is judged whether a door is opened or not based on the results of detection with a door opening sensor 509 and when the opening of the door is detected, a chopper motor 9 is driven to rotate a chopper for a specified time length (for example, 2 min.). If an infrared sensor 1 is in an initialization mode, an operator is prompted to execute an initialization. In this manner, when the power source is closed before the start of the initialization work for the infrared sensor 1 at a factory or the like while the door is opened, the chopper motor 9 is automatically driven to rotate the chopper. This enables quickly stabilizing of the detection of temperature with the infrared sensor 1 during the initialization work thereby curtailing time loss at the initialization.

    • PURPOSE: To reduce permanent distortion generated at a leaf spring, to detect an accurate weight, and to control to heat by detecting the weight of a material to be cooked placed on a turntable by an electrostatic capacity type weight sensor having a plurality of the springs. CONSTITUTION: A heating cooking apparatus has an electrostatic capacity type weight sensor 101 for sensing the weight of a material to be cooked, and the sensor 101 has a stationary electrode plate, and a plurality of movable electrode plates made of leaf springs disposed oppositely to the stationary plate. Means 102 for loading the weight of the material to be cooked substantially uniformly to the movable spring electrodes is provided. Thus, since the sensor 101 detects the weight of the material to be cooked placed, for example on a turntable and to be uniformly divided, the durability and the reliability of the sensor 101 are improved. Accordingly, since the detecting error of the sensor 101 is alleviated, the finishing accuracy of heating is improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate adverse influence of temperature unevenness of a chopper on the sensing accuracy of an infrared sensor by driving a chopper motor until the temperature of a heating chamber sensed by a temperature sensor becomes a predetermined temperature or lower by a controller after food is heated by a heating means. SOLUTION: At the time of using a microwave oven, cooking by a magnetron or heater is conducted. At this time, whether the cooking is finished or not is decided by the controller. At the time of YES, it is waited until next heating is conducted. During the waiting, a temperature of an infrared sensor 1 for sensing an infrared ray 25 radiated from food 31 being cooled by a cooling fan is sensed by a thermistor 95. Whether the temperature is the predetermined value or lower or not is decided. When the temperature is the predetermined value or higher, a chopper motor 9 is intermittently driven to intermittently rotate a chopper 8. Thus, blades of a horizontal blade part 39 are sequentially heated by heat in a cavity to eliminate partial temperature unevenness of the chopper 8.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a sensing error of a humidity sensor and improve a sensing accuracy by a method wherein a large amount of discharged air flowed from a closed container is struck against a released container of the humidity sensor installed in a discharging duct. CONSTITUTION:A first discharging port 18 arranged at a left side wall 2e of a heating chamber is provided with a discharging duct 9 having a recess part 21 at a lower part of a left wall and at the same time a humidity sensor 10 is fixed in such a way that the released container of the humidity sensor 10 may be positioned at a side of the recess at the lower part of the discharging duct 9 and the closed container is positioned at its opposite side, thereby the air is discharged from a communication port of a rear plate 1b of a frame out of the oven from the recess 21, resulting in that a large amount of discharged air strikes against the released container than that of the closed container. With such an arrangement as above, a sensing error of the humidity sensor caused by non-uniform striking of the discharged air is eliminated and a sensing accuracy is improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a better finishing of foods by a method wherein an infrared detector is provided with a chopper to cyclically interrupt infrared rays radiated from a food and when a weight detection means detects specified changes in the weight, a chopper motor is driven or controlled to allow the detection of the optimum temperature immediately after the start of heating. SOLUTION: In the operation of a microwave oven 100, when a power source is closed, the variation of change in the weight of a food in a cavity is detected by a weight sensor 501 and when the results exceed a specified change in weight, a chopper motor 9 is driven to rotate a chopper. When the elapsed time from the start of the rotation of the chopper is up to a specified time (for example 2 min.), it is judged whether a heating course is set or not by a key input on an operation panel 34. When the heating course for using an infrared sensor 1 is set, the chopper motor 9 is continued to rotate. Then, infrared rays radiated from the food within the cavity are cyclically interrupted by the chopper to check the infrared rays with the infrared sensor thereby detecting the temperature of the food.
