    • PURPOSE: In the titled novel antibiotic, to prepare an antibiotic effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, by cultivating a bacterium belonging to the genus Streptomyces, capable of producing nitracidomycins A and B.
      CONSTITUTION: Sp. SANK60784(FERM-P 7582) belonging to the genus Streptomyces separated from soil is cultivated by a culture method used for well-known ray fungus. Nitracidomycins A and B which exist mainly in a liquid part of a cultrue are collected by a method such as filtration, adsorption, etc. A compound of nitracidomycin shown by the formula where R is methyl is nitracidomycin A, and one where R is ethyl group is nitracidomycin B. This novel antibiotics are used for various microbisms.
