    • PURPOSE:To separate a liquid mixture containing an aromatic compound having no substituent or having an electron donating nucleus substitution group from a liquid mixture containing an aromatic compound, by introducing an electron acceptive group into a polymer. CONSTITUTION:An electron acceptive group such as an aromatic group, a pyridinium group or an aromatic quinonyl group, of which the nucleus was substituted with an electron withdrawing group such as a nitro group, a cyano group, a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, an ammonium group or a halogen atom, is introduced into a polymer in an introducing ratio of 1-100% on the basis of a monomer mol percentage and the MW of said polymer is pref. 10,000 or more. This polymer is formed into a membrane with a thickness of 0.01-200mum. Crosslinking treatment is pref. not performed. As the separable aromatic compound, benzene, naphthalene, anthracene, furan or pyrrole having an electron donating group such as an alkyl group, a vinyl group, an aryl group or amino group as a nucleus substitution group are designated.
