摘要： PURPOSE:To produce the titled copolymer of excellent gas permeability, by reacting a reaction product between a polyphenylene oxide and a strong base with a polyorganosiloxane having a reactive group on one end. CONSTITUTION:A reaction product is obtained by reacting polyphenylene oxide having repeating units of formula I (wherein A is a halogen, methyl or alkoxy) with 0.01-4 equivalent of a strong base (e.g., n-butyllithium) at 40-150 deg.C in the presence of a diamine such as N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine. This reaction product is reacted with a polyorganosiloxane having a reactive group on one end of formula II [wherein X is a halogen, Y is 0 or a bivalent organic group, Z is an organosiloxane chain, R are ach (substituted) alkyl or (substituted) phenyl] at 0-150 deg.C to obtain a polyphenylene oxide/ polyorganosiloxane graft copolymer of formula III (wherein B are each H or formula IV and A is methyl or formula V wherein A is methyl).

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a membrane excellent in the separation and the concentration of a gaseous mixture which has the sufficient membrane strength in a state keeping or increasing the high substance permeability and the selective separability by using polyphenyleneoxide substituted with silyl. CONSTITUTION:Polyphenyleneoxide substituted with silyl having a repeated unit shown in a formula is used. The weight mean mol.wt. of this polymer is preferably >=0.01 million. A thin membrane having 0.01-100mum thickness can be obtained by dissolving this polymer in a hydrocarbon series or ether series solvent and developing it and thereafter evaporating slowly the solvent.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prepare a membrane capable of concentrating O2 in the air by controlling permeability for oxygen of the membrane by adjusting the compsn. of copolymer for the membrane consisting of 1-trimethyl silyl propyne and acetylenic monomer. CONSTITUTION:A gas separation membrane is prepd. from a copolymer of 1-trimethyl silyl propyne polymerizing to constitution units as expressed by the formula I with substituted acetylenic monomer polymerizing to constitution units as expressed by the formula II. The proportion of the constitution unit I to the constitution unit II is 90-60/10-40. Pref. mol.wt. of the copolymer is >=10,000. The oxygen permeability Po2 is above 6X10 and the selectivity is >=2. The membrane should have 0.01-100mum film thickness in order to have necessary strength.

CONSTITUTION:Phenylene oxide comprising a repeating unit represented by formula (wherein A is a halogen atom, a methyl group and an akoxy group) is reacted with a strong base and subsequently reacted with single terminal reactive polyorganosiloxane represented by formula II (wherein X is a halogen atom, Y is an oxygen atom or a divalent org. group, Z is an organosiloxane chain, R -R may be same or different and are an alkyl group, a substituted alkyl group, a phenyl group or a substituted phenyl group). As the strong base, an organolithium compound is pref. and used in an amount of 0.01-4 equivalent to the polyphenylene oxide repeating unit. If diamine is allowed to be present at this time, reaction advances smoothly. Polyorganosiloxane represented by formula II is used in an amount of 0.5-3 equivalent to the strong base. The polyphenylene oxide unit and the polyorganosiloxane unit are set to a range of 80/20-10/90 on the basis of mol ratio.

A polymer film obtained from this copolymer has an excellent permselectivity for a substance and film forming property and can afford extremely efficient separation and concentration of a variety of gas mixtures or liquid mixtures, such as enrichment of air with oxygen. Also, by regulating the composition, permselectivity of the polymer film can be freely controlled.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain gas permselective membrane having increased coefficient of gas transmission and high mechanical strength, by using a graft copolymer obtained from a cellulose derivative and single terminal reactive polyorganosiloxane. CONSTITUTION:A cellulose derivative represented by formula is used wherein X1-X6 are selected from a group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, an acetyl group, a benzyl group, a vinylbenzyl group, a vinyl group, a hydroxyethyl group, a nitro group and an alkoxycarbonyl group, provided that at least one of X1-X6 is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyethyl group, a vinyl group or a vinylbenzyl group. This compound must have a functional group such as a hydroxyl group or a vinyl group capable of reacting with the reactive terminal of single terminal reactive polyorganosiloxane. As the reactive terminal of single terminal reactive polyorganosiloxane, a hydrosilyl group, a halosilyl group or an epoxy group are designated. The graft copolymer of both compounds is formed into a membrane by a known method. A membrane having a thickness of about 0.05-100mum is pref. from the aspect of gas permeability and mechanical strength.
