    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize X-ray intensity focusing on a sample by combining a rotary anode X-ray tube and a specific complex monochromator and finding an optimum condition in the case.
      SOLUTION: For an X-ray analyzer reflecting an X-ray beam 18 emitted from an X-ray source with a monochromator 22 and irradiating a sample, the X-ray source is made the rotary anode X-ray tube 10. The monochromator 22 is a complex monochromator contacting each side of a first elliptic monochromator 26 and a second elliptic monochromator 28. X-ray focal point 24 is arranged on the target 12 of the X-ray tube on one focus position of the elliptic monochromators. The minimum distance from the focal point 24 of the X-ray to the complex monochromator 22 is set at 40 to 100 mm. When the distance is set as such, if effective focal pint size on the target of the X-ray tube is made 40 to 100 μm, the X-ray intensity on the sample becomes maximum.
