    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which imparts fragrance as intended to a recording medium and keeps its effect for a long time.
      SOLUTION: A recording medium 2 having an image thermally fixed by a fixing device 1 reaches a cooling device 3 while the recording medium is in a high temperature state. The recording medium 2 is brought into contact with a conveying guide of the cooling device 3 and conveyed under conveying force by a driving roller. The heat in the recording medium 2 is transferred to the conveying guide, and further dissipated from the conveying guide to fins of a heat sink, and then from the fins to air, and thus, the recording medium 2 is cooled to a low temperature state. An aromatic substance is sprayed on the recording medium 2 in a low temperature state by a fragrance applying device 4. Thereby, the recording medium has the fragrance as intended without causing changes in the fragrance by heat; comfort of a user is improved by the fragrance; the fragrance can be kept for a long time since transpiration of fragrance by heat is suppressed; the comfort of a user can be maintained.
