    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the danger of disabling an image forming apparatus by protecting Dos attack through an operation part. SOLUTION: A user is identified by the operation part of the image forming apparatus 1 connected to a network or by an authentication request inputted through the network. When the Dos attack to user authentication is detected, the attack is protected in each authentication request input route. In response to the Dos attack through the operation part, an authentication receiving rate in the operation part is reduced lower than a normal state. In response to the Dos attack through the network, an authentication receiving rate through the network is reduced lower than the normal state. When the attack is stopped, a normal operation state is restored. Attack history including the information on the authentication request input route is recorded and notified to an administrator.
