SOLUTION: In this machine for grinding work for wood, etc., an engine 4 and a grinding device 5 are arranged in the front and back direction on an automatic traveling machine base 3 with a traveling device and the engine is obliquely arranged as a plan with an angle of inclination θ so as to make the front side outward to the central line P of the width of a machine body and the back part inward and a driving seat 6 is installed on the side of the engine and in approaching the back part side. The traveling device is driven from the front side output shaft of the engine and the grinding device is driven from the back side output shaft and powers for both devices can be at least selectively turned on and off through a clutch mechanism.
