Then a cage position detector 6 is energized to respond to the stop call, so as to detect the position of a cage approaching to stop at a specific platform 1, and an output responding to the relative distance between the cage and the specific platform 1 is issued. And a dimmer control device 5A is energized in response to the approach output of the cage position detector 6, the power source of an upward approach display 4A is energized, and the power source of the upward approach display 4A is lighted dark when the distance between the cage and the specific platform 1 is long, while it is lighted brighter gradually as the cage approaches. When the downward stop button 3B is pushed, an approach display 4B is lighted in the same manner but in a red color.
