    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a secrete document effectively from being copied and to accelerate reuse of a recording sheet by applying that anti-copy technology. SOLUTION: On the print set screen of a printer, a user can designate whether an ink or toner causing thermal variation in the color of a print image is used in the printing or not along with presence of print and the type of print of extra information in a print document. Any one of alarm indication that the image quality of a document is varied when the document is copied or an indication for accelerating reuse of a recording medium by erasing the print image using an erasable ink can be selected as the extra information and a material of variable color is used when these indications are printed. When the document is copied actually, color of the image is varied by the heat of a copy machine to notify a manager that the document is copied. When a thermally discoloring ink is used, the recording medium can be reused after the print image is erased.

SOLUTION: This image recording method comprises a step to previously form a material 11 which can be dissolved in or swaller with a liquid and increases the viscosity of the liquid, a step to spew out the liquid to the surface of the intermediate transfer member 21 in compliance with an image signal and thereby form an image on the intermediate transfer member 21, a step to transfer an image to a recording paper 42, and a step to remove the remaining material 11 from the surface of the intermediate transfer member 21 after the transfer step. In this case, a step is provided which selectively executes the removal of the material 11 remaining on the intermediate transfer member 21 based on specified instructions.

    • PURPOSE:To judge the presence or absence of deviation by performing measurement by a sensor which can detect the positions of pattern images for measurement formed on a transfer belt every recording device in the same time. CONSTITUTION:The transfer belt 21 is supported by a belt driving roller 24 and a follower roller 25 and moves in an A direction to convey transfer paper. A CCD sensor 27 having an image-formation optical system is provided as a pattern image detecting means on a downstream side in a belt moving direction with respect to a photosensitive body 14. The pattern images developed out of the area of the transfer paper by the respective recording devices with a signal from a pattern image signal generating means are respectively transferred to the transfer belt 21. The pattern images 28Bk, 28C, 28M and 28Y successively pass the sensor 27 with the movement of the belt and are detected by the sensor 27. Thus, the positional deviation quantity of each pattern can be obtained by one sensor and the accurate detection of the positional deviation with a few spatial and temporal errors can be performed.

CONSTITUTION:The developing capacity characteristic of a photosensitive body is detected from the adhering quantity of toner by performing a pattern detecting operation after the body is electrostatically charged while the body is moved at a low speed so that the surface of the body can be electrostatically charged to prescribed potential. By detecting the developing capacity characteristic and the current charging potential of the photosensitive body obtained from a normal pattern detecting operation, the detected charging potential of the photosensitive body is controlled so that the detected charging potential can become aimed charging potential. Therefore, the pattern detecting mode can be executed precisely while the influence of the potential fluctuation of the photosensitive body is removed with a simple constitution and the image forming condition can be controlled stably.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain sharp color reproducibility by using a pulse lighting type light source for lighting an original, selecting the frequency of the lighting pulse as the same as the subscanning frequency and selecting the data read frequency of a line sensor as the subscanning frequency or above. CONSTITUTION:The light source of pulse emission (e.g., a discharge tube such as a fluorescent lamp or a xenon lamp) is employed as a light source lighting an original and the frequency of light emission and the frequency of one line reading by a CCD are selected to be the same to each other. Thus, the moving distance of the sensor is decreased while the lamp is emitted and the mixture of adjacent picture elements in the subscanning direction is decreased and the MTF in the subscanning direction is improved. Moreover, the lighting pulse frequency of the light source is synchronized with the subscanning frequency so as to apply readout in a short cycle in matching with the lighting time, not the readout from the CCD in one cycle within the moving time of one line in the subscanning direction. Thus, a sharp color reproducibility is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deviation of dots of each color by adjusting a length between drums so that this length is integer times as long as the write width of one line in the subscanning direction of a laser beam. CONSTITUTION:Carrying length adjusting rolls 19a-19c provided in a transfer belt 16 are moved upward or downward to adjust lengths between drums 1a and 1b, drums 1b and 1c, and drums 1c and 1d. That is, the roll 19a is moved upward if an image 21b on the drum 1b leads an image 21a on the drum 1a, thereby minimizing the deviation of dots. A cam 20a is graduated, and the cam 20a is rotated based on the graduation in accordance with the extent of deviation of dots. If dots are not deviated, the carrying length between drums in integer times as long as one line in a subscanning direction (front ends of images of respective colors coincide with one another).
