    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize a projecting device capable of projecting on a screen an image of high picture quality which is not affected by the degree of polarization of incident light and has high color purity and good color balance. SOLUTION: This projecting device forms an image on the screen by a means, which makes the illumination light from a light source incident on a laminated retardation film 1, splits the optical path of the light having passed through the laminated retardation film into two of component light having its polarization direction not changed and component light having its polarization direction changed by a PBS 2, guides one of the two split light components as illumination light to a 1st light valve 6, guides the other light component to a color separating element 3 and separates it into light beams of two color by the color separating element, guides the separated light beams of the two colors as illumination light to 2nd and 3rd light valves 7 and 8, forms color images by the 1st to 3rd light vales, and puts the respective modulated video light beams together, and a projecting means 9. Color filters 4 and 5 are arranged at one or more places between the 1st light valve and PBS, the 2nd light valve and color separating element, and the 3rd light valve and color separating element.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a small and thin optical pickup device dealing with the miniaturization of equipment such as an optical disk drive. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device is equipped with an objective lens function layer 11 which converges irradiating light on the information recording face of a recording medium to form a minute spot light on that face and which again converges the reflected light of this minute spot light into near collimation, an optical path separating function layer 14 which separates the reflected light nearly collimated in the objective lens function layer 11 from the optical path of the irradiating light, an optical path deflecting function layer 13 which deflects the optical path of the reflected light whose optical path is separated by the optical path separating function layer 14 and which leads the reflected light in the direction opposite to the irradiating direction, a converging element function layer 15 which converges the reflected light thus deflected by the optical path deflecting function layer 13, and a photodetecting function layer 16 which receives the light converged by the converging element function layer 15 to detect its intensity; the optical pickup device is constituted by laminating these layers.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information recording/reproducing device capable of continuously correcting spherical aberration caused by an error of thickness of an optical disk substrate, always forming a suitable beam spot and performing reliable reading/writing. SOLUTION: In the optical information recording/reproducing device 1 condensing/irradiating a beam emitted from a laser light source 2 onto an optical information recording medium D through an objective lens 7, receiving a reflection beam from the optical information recording medium D by a photo- detector and converting/outputting the detection signal of the photo-detector to a voltage signal, a transparent parallel plane 4 formed by elastic and transparent material is arranged between the laser light source 2 and the objective lens 7, and the transparent parallel plane 4 is warped, and by adjusting its curvature, the aberration is corrected. Thus, even when an error exists in the thickness of the optical information recording medium D, by suitably deforming the transparent parallel plane 4 according to its error amount, the spherical aberration is corrected continuously.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the formation of the roof mirror array by setting the number of the roof mirrors of the roof mirror array to a half as large as the number of lenses of a lens array. CONSTITUTION:The lens array 1 is formed by arranging the lenses successively and alternately in two arrays. The roof mirror array 3 has plural roof type reflecting surfaces formed successively at an arrangement pitch twice as large as the arrangement pitch of the lens array 1. A stop plate 2 is arranged between the lens array 1 and roof mirror array 3 while provided with an opening in parallel to the optical axis. Those members are integrated and held in a housing. Thus, the array pitch of the roof mirrors is set twice as large as that of the lens array for single image formation and their combinations are arranged in plural arrays to cover effective scanning width.
