摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods that facilitate monitoring RF channels in a wireless communication environment to determine whether one or more channels comprise a forward-link-only (FLO) signal.SOLUTION: A receiver can receive a first RF channel with an FLO signal and monitor other RF channels for FLO signals. Upon a determination that a monitored RF channel comprises the FLO signal, the receiver can switch between the first RF channel and the monitored RF channel. FLO signal detection can be performed using one or more of a wide-area identification display channel an energy detection protocol and a wide-area overhead information symbol decoding error detection protocol.

Such information enables accurate position or location determination for correcting timing differences throughout the network. In addition, transmitter phase adjustment is made that advance or delay transmissions from the transmitters in order to correct potential timing differences at receivers. Further, combinations of timing offset communications and/or transmitter phase adjustment can be employed in the wireless network to facilitate position determination.

By the information, accurate determination of the position or the location can be performed to cope with timing differences over an entire network. In another embodiment, to cope with potential timing differences in the receiver, transmitter phase adjustment is performed to advance or delay transmissions from the transmitter. In still another viewpoint, to facilitate the position and location determination, a combination of a timing offset communication and/or transmitter phase adjustment is used in the wireless network.
