    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas filtering and damping device equipped with not only a gas filter capable of removing mist, organic materials or the like in gas but also a gas damping chamber which enhance the detection capability of a trace component detector in which the gas filtering and damping device is installed, thanks to it that the filtering and damping functions are concentrated in the device.
      SOLUTION: The gas filtering and damping device is equipped with at least a gas filtering unit, a gas inlet port 1 that allows gas to be treated to pass therethrough and to flow into the at least a gas filtering unit, and a gas outlet port 25 that allows the gas treated by the at least a gas filtering unit to pass therethrough and to flow out of the at least a gas filtering unit. The at least a gas filtering unit is equipped with an inflowing-gas damping chamber 4 for damping the above gas by suppressing the fluctuation of the flow rate and the pressure of the gas and reducing the pressure drop in the gas flow path and the local pressure drop as well by balancing the concentration, the pressure, and the flow rate of the gas.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed imaging/inspecting facility and a method of a moving target which implement high-speed inspection of the target moving within a fixed speed range, and significantly reduce the inspection time.
      SOLUTION: The high-speed imaging/inspecting facility of the moving target is provided with a path for passing the moving target; a scanning/imaging apparatus for emitting a radiation beam to the moving target passing through the path so as to image and inspect the moving target; a first detection unit for determining whether the moving target enters into the path and counting the number of times, when the moving target enters into the path; and a second detection unit for measuring a moving speed of the moving target within the path. The high-speed imaging/inspecting facility controls the second detection unit, based on a detection signal received from the first detection unit and indicating the moving object entering into the path so as to detect the moving speed of the moving target, controls the scanning/imaging apparatus, based on a measured result from the second detection unit so as to emit the radiation beam, at a frequency corresponding to the speed of the moving object, and inspects the moving target.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable sampling device and a sampling method to prevent sampling swipe deformation when detecting explosives or drugs.
      SOLUTION: The device comprises a handle 14 at rear portion and a swipe sampling mechanism 15 at the front portion with a swiping surface 7 located on its underside. The sampling swipe 8 becomes a state completely contacting with objective surface during wiping to improve wiping efficiency. A smaller sample inlet port is disposed on an analyzer to save a large amount of sampling swipes. The device prevents sampling swipes from deformation and folds hard to be restored, ensures sample insertion operation, enhances efficiency of both sample collection and sample injection, and improves detection performance for analytes to be detected. The method comprises a step to attach a sampling swipe to a swiping surface, a step to fix the front end portion of the sampling swipe, and a step to fix the rear end portion of the sampling swipe.
