    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of finding an index for differentiating a subcorneal cell instead of a shape of the subcorneal cell, and capable of differentiating thereby a characteristic of a skin in a short time.
      SOLUTION: In this method of differentiating the subcorneal cell collected from the skin, an ultraviolet ray is emitted from an ultraviolet ray source toward the subcorneal cell on a slide glass sealed with an immersion oil, under observation by a microscope or magnification video, and fluorescence intensity of the subcorneal cell excited by the ultraviolet ray is used as the index. The skin is differentiated based on a characteristic difference in stereoscopic structure of a keratin constituting the differentiated subcorneal cell.
