    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-piece cable tie including a support of a locking device which changes from a cantilever beam to a simple beam support when completely coupled. SOLUTION: The cable tie includes a strap 104 with a first end and a free end 138, a locking head having a strap accepting channel 122, and a metal locking device 136 having a mounted end fixed to a support of a locking head and a free end positioned in the strap accepting channel to form a cantilever beam and mounted within an anchoring housing region of the head. It has a central inwardly projecting groove 110 of a predefined width that defines a thinned portion extending along a longitudinal axis of the strap to the free end of the strap. The strap accepting channel has a channel width defined between an end wall and an inner wall. A ledge 116 that provides a support surface of the metal locking device and a V-shaped groove at the free end to improve flexibility of the strap are provided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable tie that requires less insertion force for the cable strap and which has a clean exterior appearance. SOLUTION: With this cable tie, a strap accepting channel 122 is provided in the locking head 102 that is substantially parallel to a strap attachment axis. The strap accepting channel 122 is divided into a first part, which is secured to the strap, and a second part, which holds a locking device, allowing the strap accepting channel 122 to be closer to the cable tie being bundled. Further, in the case of a two-piece cable tie having a metal locking device, the locking device 136 is preferably bent so as to have a fixed end 134 substantially parallel to the axis of the strap accepting channel 122 and a free end 138 positioned within the strap accepting channel 122 at an acute angle relative to the strap accepting channel axis.
