    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To swiftly terminate the hyperthermic treatment while locally applying hyperthermic stimulation in a chair type massage machine having a built-in treatment mechanism movable in the vertical direction in a backrest to apply treatment such as rubbing massage and tapping massage to the back of a treated person with treatment elements mounted at the distal ends of a pair of left and right treatment arms in the treatment mechanism by the oscillation of the treatment arms in the cross direction, forward/backward or in the vertical direction.
      SOLUTION: In this invention, the treatment elements 23, which are left projecting in a conventional massage machine, are retracted into the backrest part 25 as indicated in fig.(a) when treatment is not applied, and a sheet body to cover a storage space 25a formed in the backrest part 25 for the treatment mechanism 25, which is stretched over the surface 25f of the backrest part 25 in the conventional massage machine, is stretched to the depth from the surface 25f. The sheet body is formed of an exothermic body to generate heat at the time of the hyperthermic treatment. Accordingly, if the whole exothermic body generates heat, the hyperthermic treatment can be locally applied to treatment positions only where the treatment elements 23 are applied as indicated in fig.(b).
