    • PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a dissolution tank body and to improve reliability by horizontally installing a hollow rotor in which a hollow spiral screw is housed and providing a gas guide plate and gas suction pipe under said rotor. CONSTITUTION:The cut pieces of clear fuel are introduced from a material feed port 1 into the beginning end part on the left side of the rotor 2 and is brought into the nitric acid supplied from a nitric acid feed port 5, by which the cut pieces are dissolved. This rotor 2 is installed horizontally in the dissolution tank. Holes for stirring by a pressurizing gas are provided to the lower half part of the rotor 2 and the continuous screw 3 having a hollow spiral shape and the gas guide plate 1 are provided to the inside peripheral face of the rotor. The pressurizing gas from the gas suction pipe 12 installed under the rotor 2 is introduced into this stirring air introducing holes and further, the gas can be surely fed into the rotor 2 by the guide plate 11 provided under the rotor 2, by which the sufficient stirring and heat transfer are executed. The sufficient contact of the cut nuclear fuel and the nitric acid soln. is thus executed by the rotor 2 in such a manner and the nuclear fuel is completely dissolved before the fuel arrives at the terminal part on the right side of the rotor 2.

    • PURPOSE:To thoroughly remove org. impurities contained in water by heating the water contg. the org. impurities to evaporate, then introducing oxygen or gas mixed with an inert gas and oxygen therein and bringing the same into contact with an oxidation catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The water 2 contg. the org. impurities is heated to evaporate by an evaporator 1 and the oxygen or the gaseous mixture composed of the inert gas and oxygen introduced from an oxygen supply line 3 is added thereto and is preheated by a gas preheater 4. The preheated oxygen-contg. steam is conducted to an oxidation reaction column 5 held at a prescribed temp. and is brought into contact with the oxidation catalyst 6. The org. impurities in the steam is brought into reaction with the oxygen by the contact with the catalyst, by which the impurities are burned and gasified and are thereby removed. The steam from which the org. impurities are removed in the above- mentioned manner is conducted to a condenser 7 where the steam is condensed. The condensate is stored as treated water 9 in a receiving tank 8. As a result, a slight amt. of the org. impurities which are contained in the water and are difficult to be removed are thoroughly removed without remaining of the treating agent, etc.
