SOLUTION: This water-base ink contains platy particles having the largest diameter at most six times larger than the thickness and further contains a carnauba wax emulsion and/or colorless resin particles. The platy particles can be used as a colorant by coloring them chromatic, the carnauba wax emulsion imparts suitable fixative properties and wear resistance to paper, and the colorless resin particles serve as an aid that imparts the easiness of being erased upon being rubbed with the rubber eraser. Thereby, the cover-up excellent in smoothness of a coated surface and further stability with time can be provided.
