    • PURPOSE:To enable the release of braking without providing a release mechanism, and to prevent the generation of abrasion of members and the impact noise at the time of releasing by forming a lock mechanism, which can release the braking condition and which can brake again on the way, of a ratchet plate and a claw member. CONSTITUTION:When the force is applied to the tip of a brake lever 20 once in the braking condition, a claw member 30 is turned by the energizing force of an energizing member 40, and the claw end 35 is removed from a gear part 26 of a ratchet plate 25, and release of the braking is enbled so as to return the brake lever 20. On the way of the releasing the braking, when the brake lever 20 is reversely turned for braking operation, a relay claw 36 is pushed by the gear part 26 of the ratchet plate 25, and the claw member 30 is displaced to the operating position. Then, the energizing member 40 energizes the claw member 30 to a position, in which the claw end 35 is engaged with the gear part 26, and a brake cable C is pulled for braking by turning the brake lever 20 in this condition, and even if the brake lever 20 is released at a desired position, the brake lever 20 is constrained at this position to maintain the braking condition.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a stick type parking brake in which the idle turning of a handle is enabled, and also the moving of the handle in the axial direction at the time of idle turning is prevented. CONSTITUTION:A stick type parking brake is provided with a fixed cylindrical body 32 in which a handle 20 is fixed to the one ene of a stem 10 so as to be turnable and not slidable in the axial direction and also which is fixed to the one end outer circumference of the stem 10, a slip-on cylindrical body 33 which is fitted to the outer circumference of the stem 10 so as to be adjacent to the fixed cylindrical body 32 and turnable and slidable in the axial direction and also which is allowed only the axial sliding to the handle 20 and is not allowed rotation, and a retaining energizing means 34 for energizing the slip-on cylindrical body 33 so as to be abutted on the fixed cylindrical body 32. The abutting surface of the fixed cylindrical body 32 and the slip-on cylindrical body 33 is made an inclined surface by which the turning of the handle 20 with regard to the stem 10 is allowed and the posture of the handle 20 in the free condition is returned and retained to a prescribed position.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the angular range in which a handle is idly turned and is returned to its initial position, in a stick type parking brake in which the idle turning of the handle is enabled so that a brake is not inadvertently released. CONSTITUTION:A returning mechanism 30 for returning a handle 20 to its initial position is made up by a cam plate 31 that is slidable in the direction perpendicular to the axis of a stem 10 inside the handle 20, an energizing means 32 for energizing the cam plate 31 against the one end of the stem 10, and a circumferential cam 33 which is provided to the one end of the stem 10 and is slidably brought into contact with the end surface of the cam plate 31, and by which when the handle 20 is twisted and idly turned from the inital position, the cam plate 31 is slided in the direction resisting to the engergizing means 32. Further, the contacting position of the circumferential cam 33 and the end surface of the cam plate 31 in the state that the handle 20 is placed at the initial position is offset in the energizing direction of the energizing means 32 with regard to the center line of the stem 10.
