摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric chuck opening/closing device which can easily adjust a grasp force of a chuck even during rotation of a spindle, efficiently machine a workpiece with a high machining accuracy and with small amount of energy, and compactly design a machine tool. SOLUTION: The electric chuck opening/closing device 21 comprises the chuck 2 for gripping the workpiece, a conversion device 4 having an adjustment gear 3 on the periphery, a draw bar 5 for connecting the conversion device 4 and the chuck 2, a transmission gear 6 provided on the spindle 15, a second rotating shaft 7 rotatably pivotally supported so as to be parallel to the spindle 15, a first gear 8 and a second gear 9 rotatably provided on the second rotating shaft 7, an auxiliary motor 10 for driving the first gear 8, a first clutch 11 capable of connecting/releasing the auxiliary motor 10 with/from the second rotating shaft 7, and a second clutch 12 capable of connecting/releasing the second rotating shaft 7 with/from the second gear 9.
