    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instantaneous type gas water heater in which rise time it takes for hot water from the start of delivery thereof to reach a desired temperature even if the apparatus has been left out of operation for a long period of time. SOLUTION: For starting a water heater 1, a preheating is effected. In the preheating, a gas burner 21 is ignited for a required time period so that the apparatus is maintained in such a condition that hot water can be delivered. The heating time period is determined in such a way that amounts of heat required for heating water introduced into a heat exchanger 22 to a target temperature to send it out is obtained based on the temperature differences between a target temperature set by means of a temperature setting part 32 and temperatures sensed by a feed water temperature sensor 23 and based on the amounts of heat and heating capacity of the gas burner 21.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent any trouble from being produced against hot water supply thereafter by closing an opening/closing valve provided on a hot water supply pipe when the amount of flowing water reaches a predetermined one, and thereafter detecting a fact that a hot water supply cock is closed within a predetermined time and then opening the closed opening/closing valve. SOLUTION: A flow rate detector 11 comprises a flow rate sensor, and detects a water flow and a water flow rate. Upon hot water supply to a bath tank 9, if a water flow rate is previously inputted into a controller 20, an opening/closing valve 15 is closed when the flow rate reaches the previously inputted amount, and hence hot water supply to the bath tank 9 is stopped and an alarm is issued from a buzzer 23 attached to the controller 20. When the opening/closing valve is closed, an air opening/closing valve 16 is opened, and part of air from a fan 14 flows to a hot water supply pipe 5 after passage through the air opening/closing valve 16 and a check valve 18, if all of cocks 6, 7, 8 are closed, air in an air pipe 17 is pressurized. The air pressure is detected by a pressure detector 19, whereby the opening/closing valve 15 is opened again.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas water heater in which rise time it takes for hot water to reach a desired temperature from the start of feeding of hot water can be made shorter by insulating holding water even after feeding of hot water is suspended. SOLUTION: Not only a gas burner 21 is ignited during the time when hot water is supplied from a water heater 1, but also the burner is ignited when the temperature of holding water in a heat exchanger 22 falls during the time when feeding of hot water is suspended. The gas burner 21 is ignited when the temperature sensed by a heating temperature sensor 25 provided on the outlet side of the exchanger 22 has become a reheating temperature set to a predetermined temperature lower than the temperature at the time of suspension of feeding of hot water. And the burner 21 is extinguished after the lapse of a time period during which the holding water in the exchanger 22 rises from the reheating temperature to the temperature at the time of suspension of feeding of hot water.

    • PURPOSE: To use a bathtub with a purifying device without problems even at an initial stage of the installation or at the time of resuming the operation after a long period of stop by a method wherein a specified quantity of water of the bathtub is drained every day at the initial stage of usage or at the time of resuming the operation of the bathtub after a long period of stop, for the bathtub with a purifying device which includes a bathtub, purifying tank with microbes and heat source equipment. CONSTITUTION: For an around-the-clock bath, the bathtub water of a bathtub 1 is cleaned by a hair catcher 2 which removes hairs, etc., and is fed to a purifying tank 4 by a pump 3. In this case, organic substances such as scale, etc., of the bathtub water are removed by microbe, and then, in a sterilizing tank 5, coli bacteria, etc., are sterilized, and the bathtub water is returned to the bathtub 1 from a circulation port 6. In this case, a solenoid valve 21 is provided on the piping between the hair catcher 2 and the pump 3, and at the initial stage of an operation wherein the film of microbe has not been sufficiently formed on the purifying tank 4, or at the time of resuming of the operation after a long period of stop, a specified quantity of the bathtub water is drained, and the bathtub water in the bathtub 1 is prevented from whitening. The draining quantity of the circulating water is preferably approx. 1/3 of the total bathtub water per day during the first one week after the start of the operation, and the same quantity of hot water with the drained water is automatically fed.

    • PURPOSE:To obviate a switch to switch the stop of operation of a controller in a position in the vicinity of a hot water feed faucet by a method wherein based on information from first and second water quantity detecting sensors and a temperature detecting sensor to detect the temperature of circulating water, a pump for a return hot water line and the burner of a water boiler are automatically controlled. CONSTITUTION:When operation to open and close a hot water feed faucet 6 is effected during rise, a fourth deciding means 22 decides a specified timing by means of information from a second water quantity detecting sensor S2, and a timing means 30 is brought into a state, in which a pump operation indication by a third deciding means 21 is allowed for a set time, according to indication from a fourth deciding means 22. After the hot water feed faucet is closed, a water quantity detected by the second water quantity detecting sensor S2 is reduced to a value lower than a set value and a detecting temperature by a temperature detecting sensor S3 is reduced to a value lower than a set value, and a pump P is brought into an operation state according to indication from the third deciding means 21. Thus, when a water quantity detected by a first water quantity detecting sensor S1 is increased to a value higher than a set value through circulation of water, a burner 1 is brought into a combustion state by means of a first controller C1, and circulating water is heated by a water boiler B.
