    • PURPOSE:To recover solid or liquid in a high yield from a solid-liquid mixture having a high solid concn. ratio by successively executing an ordinary concentrating operation of a liquid to be treated to circulate and concentrated the liquid to be treated and a concentrating operation of the liquid remaining in a housing to execute a dead end type concentrating treatment only within the housing. CONSTITUTION:The circulation outlet side of the non-filtered liquid of the housing of a membrane separator body 4 is provided with an automatic valve 8 and the out-of- system discharge side of the non-filtered liquid is provided with an automatic valve 9. The automatic valve 8 is opened and the automatic valve 9 is closed to take out the filtrate to the outside via a filtrate line 6 while returning the non-filtered liquid to a raw liquid tank 1 via a non-filtered liquid circulating line 5, by which the liquid is circulated and concentrated in the raw liquid tank 1 at the time of ordinary concentrating. The dead end type concentrating treatment is then executed only within the housing until the raw liquid level falls down to the lowermost part of the raw liquid tank 1 by closing the automatic valve 8 for the specified period of time while the taking out of the filtrate outside the system is continued. The liquid in the housing is then discharged outside the system by opening only the automatic valve 9 for the specified period of time.

    • PURPOSE:To concentrate an org. valuable material to a high concn. by permeating a raw liq. contg. the org. valuable material having >=100 mol.wt. and silica through a two-stage reverse-osmosis membrane device while preventing the deposition of silica. CONSTITUTION:The raw liq. contg. the org. valuable material having >=100 mol.wt. and silica is introduced into a raw liq. storage tank 1 and then supplied to the first reverse-osmosis membrane device 2 under pressure by a pump 4, and the concentration of silica on the non-permeation side is prevented. The primary liq. concentrate 8 is transiently introduced into a cushion tank 6, and then supplied to the second reverse-osmosis membrane device 3 under pressure by a pump 5. Since a high-desalting-efficiency reverse-osmosis membrane having >=90% NaCl blocking rate is mounted in the device 3, the valuable material, silica and inorg. ion are mostly blocked by the membrane, and a secondary liq. concentrate 10 further enriched with the valuable material is obtained on the non-permeation side. The deposition of silica in the system is prevented in such a way, and a valuable material is concentrated to a high degree by the whole system.

    • PURPOSE:To enable permeation treatment under low pressure, in separating a high-molecular org. substance from a low-molecular org. substance and inorg. salts, by using a reverse osmosis membrane while diluting the solution in a recirculation side by adding water from the outside of the system to perform permeation treatment. CONSTITUTION:A solution mixture is one containing a high-molecular org. substance with an M.W. of 1,000-5,000, a low-molecular org. substance with an M.W. of 200 or less and inorg. salts. This solution mixture is supplied to a permeation apparatus, provided with a reverse osmosis membrane having such a characteristic that the exhaustive ratio of NaCl in a solution containing 1,000- 1,500ppm of NaCl is 50% or less, under pressure through a recirculation tank. Permated water containing inorg. salts and the low-molecular org. substance is discharged out of the system while the non-permeated water containing the high- molecular org. substace is recirculated to the recirculation tank. Herein, operation for adding water to the recirculation system from the outside of the system is interposed to continue permeation and the high-molecular org. substance is separated from the low-molecular org. substance and inorg. salts.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively restore an ultrafiltration membrane in the recovery of amino acid from protein using a cross-flow type ultrafiltration membrane apparatus by passing a proteinase solution to the non-permeation side of the ultrafiltration membrane under specific condition, leaving at rest and passing back-wash water. CONSTITUTION:An amino acid 8 is recovered from a liquid 1 containing protein and amino acid by carrying out i) an amino acid recovery step and ii) a subsequent ultrafiltration membrane restoration step using a cross-flow type ultrafiltration membrane apparatus. The step ii) is composed of the 1st step to pass a proteinase-containing solution 9 to the non-permeation side of the ultrafiltration membrane under pressure while stopping the flow out of the liquid at the permeated liquid-side of the ultrafiltration membrane 3, the 2nd step to leave the ultrafiltration membrane resting after releasing the pressure and the 3rd step to pass back wash water 13 from the permeation side to the non-permeation side of the ultrafiltration membrane. The function of the ultrafiltration membrane clogged with a protainons substance can easily and efficiently be covered by this process to increase the productivity of amino acid.

    • PURPOSE:To sufficiently complete an enzymatic reaction, by placing two or more housings attached with enzyme-immobilized membrane in series, passing the treating liquid through the 1st state housing in cross-flow manner to filter a part of the liquid and filtering the whole liquid in the latter stage. CONSTITUTION:An enzymatic reaction is carried out by filtering a treating liquid 4 with a porous membrane 1 having immobilized enzyme. In the above process, two or more housings 2A-2C attached with the enzyme-immobilized membrane 1 are arranged in series. The treating liquid 4 is passed through the 1st stage housing 2A in such a manner as to cross the flow of the treating liquid 4 with the enzyme-immobilized membrane 1. The non-filtered liquid passing parallel to the enzyme-immobilized membrane 1 is circulated to the side of the treating liquid and the whole filtrate perpendicularly passed through the enzyme-immobilized membrane is successively passed through the enzyme- immobilized membranes of the latter housings. The enzymatic reaction can be sufficiently performed even by the use of an enzyme-immobilized membrane having immobilized enzyme having low rate of reaction.
