    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medium from becoming crinkled or jamming and to avoid change of a printing position due to change of a conveying quantity of the medium. SOLUTION: This printer comprises a conveying means for conveying a medium 22, a print head 16 that is provided in a conveying passage a3 of the medium and performs printing on the medium 22, a guide 23 for guiding the medium 22 at a portion in the vicinity of the print head 16, a protector 18 that is swingably supported at the tip portion of the print head 16 and is equipped with a guiding face S1 for guiding the medium 22 and a protector rotating means that rotates the protector 18 to allow the guiding face S1 to be inclined with respect to the conveying passage a3 and to face the edge section of the medium 22 passing through a gap between the guide 23 and protector 18. As the guiding face S1 of the protector 18 is inclined when the edge section of the medium 22 passes through the gap between the guide 23 and protector 18, the front edge of the medium 22 is not stopped by the side edge face S2 of the protector 18.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a local oscillation frequency with high accuracy without being affected by fading by a extracting a frequency error component whose frequency error component due to fading is negligible and allowing an oscillator frequency of a local oscillator to follow an oscillator frequency of a transmitter. SOLUTION: Channel estimate sections 11,12 receive a complex reception base band signal to estimate a radio channel circuit and provide an output of channel estimate values 1, 2. Autocorrelation arithmetic sections 21, 22 receive the estimated values 1, 2 to calculate the autocorrelation with the channel estimate values at a time before by a predetermined time and provide an output of channel autocorrelation values 1, 2. An autocorrelation addition arithmetic section 3 adds the autocorrelation values 1, 2 to provide a channel autocorrelation sum, and a control section 4 receiving the sum provides an output of a frequency update amount. Based on the update amount, an oscillated frequency of a carrier signal local oscillator of a receiver is updated. Thus, a multi-path wave is indiyidually processed to enhance the immunity against fading.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure prescribed communication quality by converting a difference between a communication quality and a communication quality object into a beam tilt angle and making the beam tilt angle of an antenna of a base station into a converted beam tilt angle. SOLUTION: A subtractor 5 subtracts a communication quality outputted from a communication quality arithmetic section 4 from a communication quality object received from a terminal 1 and provides an output of a difference to a tilt angle update amount decision section 6. The decision section 6 converts the difference into a tilt angle update amount and provides an output of it to an adder 7. The adder 7 receives the tilt angle update amount outputted from the decision section 6 and a current beam tilt angle outputted from a delay device 8, sums the beam tilt angle and the update amount to provide an output of a new beam tilt angle to a limiter 9. The limiter 9 discriminates whether or not the value is a permissible range of the beam tilt angle. When the value is within the permissible range, the beam tilt angle outputted from the adder 7 is outputted as it is as a new beam tilt angle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a propagation path characteristic with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A converter 13 outputs a propagation path characteristic signal for each time interval Tf of predetermined known data based on reception symbol data and known data position information. An interpolation device 14 outputs the propagation path characteristic signal after interpolation at a reception symbol data interval Ts from the propagation path characteristic signal. A multiplier 15 multiplies the reception symbol data with the propagation path characteristic signal after interpolation to generate reception symbol data from which the propagation path characteristic is eliminated. A data discrimination device 16 applies soft discrimination and hard discrimination or the like to the reception symbol data after the propagation path characteristic is eliminated to provide an output of a data discrimination result. A multiplier 17 generates and outputs a pseudo propagation path characteristic signal including the noise component. A filter circuit 18 applies low pass filtering to the pseudo propagation path characteristic signal to provide an output of the propagation path characteristic estimate signal from which the noise component is eliminated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a phase of a delay wave at a current point of time even when a time requiring to detect a delay wave to be demodulated. SOLUTION: Data R spread-modulated by a spread code having a code length being a multiple of N of a correlation length are fed to an input terminal 11. A reference phase generating section 14 generates data RT representing a tip number being a reference to detect a phase of a delayed wave included in the received data R. A phase detection section 15 detects a phase of the delayed wave by applying inverse spread to the received data R while sequentially revising a phase of the spread code and detects a relative phase between the delayed wave and the data RT by obtaining a difference between the data representing the detected phase and reference chip number data RT. Demodulation sections 16(1), 16(2) add the data RP1, RP2 representing the relative phase and the reference tip number data RT to obtain the absolute phase of the delayed wave to demodulate the delayed wave by using the spread code having the absolute phase to apply inverse spread to the received data R.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the volume of an underwater receiver, to improve the housing property and the number of ocean sensors to a container and to miniaturize the sensor by mounting an echo sounder element on a plate and integratedly wrapping a foamed resin, the echo sounder element, and the plate material with a mold materiall so as to seal it. SOLUTION: The echo sounder element 1 is mounted on an electronic circuit substrate 7 being the plate material together with the foamed resin 6 adding the bubble and the echo sounder element 1, the foamed resin 6 and the electronic circuit substrate 7 are integratedly wrapped by the mold material 8 so as to be sealed. Then, the introducing part of a cable 5 is sealed by the mold material 8. Thus, structure becomes the perfect waterproof one. Though the underwater echo sounder receiver receives water pressure and is about to be crushed since pressure is added to the foamed resin 6, the diameter of the bubble of the foamed resin 6 is small and the surrounding of the bubble is hardened by the resin so that structure becomes the sufficient waterproof one. The specific gravity of the foamed resin 6 is small so that floating power is sufficiently given to the underwater echo sounder receiver with small volume.
