CONSTITUTION: In a pedal detection section 4, pedal footing force is detected by a sensor employing for example, a strain gauge and the like, and in a computation processing section 3, a control signal, is generated by extending its output time in proportion to the duration time of pedal footing force detected by the pedal detection section 4. Besides, a PWM control (pulse width control) section 1 outputs an output computed and processed by the computation processing section 3 as a control signal, adjusts a time interval at which voltage applied to an electric motor 2 from a power supply is turned on/off, and thereby controls the output of the electric motor 2. Since pedal footing force and its duration time are detected every time as mentioned above, and an output time to auxiliary power is extended in proportion to its duration time, response in proportion to a speed can thereby be automatically made only by means of pedal footing.

CONSTITUTION: This system has a transformer T1 which has a plurality of secondary windings, a switching means SW1 which is connected to a primary winding n1 of the transformer T1, a plurality of rectifier circuits CR1, CR2, and CR3 which are connected to the secondary windings n2, n3, and n4 of the transformer respectively, and a charging circuit which connects the output of each rectifier circuit to each unit cell. The constant power output of each of the secondary windings n2, n3, and n4 which is obtained by switching the primary winding n1 of the transformer T1 by means of the switching means SW1 is rectified and then a unit cell of each of serially-combined capacitor batteries C1, C2 and C3 is charged. By this structure, charging current becomes large when the battery voltages of the unit cells are low and it becomes small when the battery voltages of the unit cells are high and thereby all the batteries can be uniformly charged automatically.

CONSTITUTION:A storage battery system is provided with a power source constituted by connecting a main battery 1 which stores electric energy and has a large capacity and auxiliary capacitor 2 having an internal resistance smaller than that of the main battery 1 in parallel with each other, switching means 3 which controls the power supply to a load by switching the feeder line, request generating means which generates a drive request, and control means 5 which detects the voltage of the power source and controls the switching means 3 by generating a pulse signal in accordance with the drive request and drives a drive means 4 in response to the drive request which largely fluctuates in a short time. Even when the energy density of the power unit becomes higher due to the internal resistance of an electric double layer capacitor when the capacitor is used for the power source, a large peak-load current can be supplied from the auxiliary capacitor even when the energy density of the internal resistance is increased by using a capacitor having a small internal resistance as the auxiliary battery.
