The holding ring 4 is attached horizontally movably to a rotary driving ring 10 which is arranged above the holding ring 4 and an X-axis table 7 and a Y-axis table 8 are preferably attached to the guide ring 6 and also are driven with servomotors 14, 16.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To trim an opening unnecessary part of an organic resin precoated metal cup with good cutting performance even in a high temperature state without building up metal powder on a cutting edge and to eliminate dispersion of cup height after trimming.
      SOLUTION: In trimming the unnecessary part of a cup upper part after dry-forming the cup from a precoated metal plate, trimming is performed on condition that the cutting edge angles of trimmer knives 2, 3 are respectively 40-90° and that the relation between the temperature y of a trimmed cup and the cutting edge angle x of the trimmer knife at the start of trimming satisfies y 2 +3.05x+116. At this time, the temperature of the trimmed cup is not lower than 40°C, and a clearance when two trimmer knives intersect is kept to 6-30% of the thickness of the trimmed cup. Further, dispersion of cup height can be suppressed by performing temperature control trimming to keep the dispersion of the temperature range of individual trimmed cups to 30°C or lower.
