    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcasting relay system and its method, which relays broadcasting waves, even in the place which the broadcasting waves do not reach without a special facility to take in the broadcasting waves from terrestrial route. SOLUTION: Broadcasting signals with multiplexed images, voices, etc. are transmitted from a broadcasting station 1 to a transmitting device 2. The IP packetizing unit 211 of the transmitting device 2 carries out the IP packetizing of the broadcasting TS (Transport Stream) signal. Then creation of an IP header for communication including an address of a relay device 3 and error correction, are carried out.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gap filler device capable of retransmitting only a broadcast wave for a broadcast service for partial reception purpose using a mobile terminal or the like among digital broadcast waves comprising a plurality of hierarchical layers without affecting a fixed layer service and to provide a retransmission method of digital broadcast wave.
      SOLUTION: The gap filler device receives a terrestrial digital broadcast wave adopting the OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system and divided into 13 segments and extracts one segment for prescribed partial reception purpose from the received terrestrial digital broadcast wave. Then the gap filler device retransmits the extracted one-segment signal to partial reception purpose mobile receivers existing in a particular area (a park, a station and an inside of a train or the like).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcasting transmission and reception technique which receive a signal in an excellent state even if a receiving environment is much inferior to that of fixed reception such as partial reception.
      SOLUTION: In terrestrial digital broadcasting, 13 segments are be divided into three hierarchies: an A hierarchy, a B hierarchy and a C hierarchy, and one segment at a central part is allocated to a partial reception hierarchy (A hierarchy) for a portable receiver. In such digital broadcasting composed of a plurality of segments, signals other than a partial hierarchy that may usually be multiplexed are not multiplexed on a segment but signals of a partial hierarchy are multiplexed on a plurality of segments to be transmitted. A side that receives the partial hierarchy performs reception with a selection diversity system for selecting a segment with the best receiving state among segments with the signals of a partial hierarchy multiplexed thereon. Otherwise, the receiving side performs reception with a combination diversity system for combining signals of a plurality of segments with the signals of a partial hierarchy multiplexed thereon to receive the combined signal.
