    • PURPOSE: A resin sealant capable of forming a feedthrough excellent in water resistance and air tightness, prepared by adding a curing agent to a polyfluorinated epoxy resin or a mixture thereof with a different epoxy resin.
      CONSTITUTION: A curint agent is added to a polyfluorinated epoxy resin of the formula (wherein n≥0) or a composition prepared by mixing this resin with a different epoxy resin. If required, a variety of fillers, diluents, modifiers, pigments, vehicles, softeners, coupling agents, etc., may be suitably added. The resin composition thus produced can be used as a resin sealant for feedthrough. For example, a seal is made between a feedthrough mold 1 made of beryllium/copper and an optical fiber 2 passing therethrough with the resin sealant 3. It is also possible to increase the bondability by adopting a structure in which the resin sealant 3 is directly bonded to a fiber element glass 2 A which has been exposed by partially stripping the coating from the optical fiber 2.

    • PURPOSE: A resin sealant having a large initial tack and water-resistant, moisture-resistant bonding strength, and low saturation moisture content and moisture permeability, prepared by mixing a specified polyamide resin with fused silica powder, and γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane.
      CONSTITUTION: A bisphenol A-derived epoxy resin is mixed with a polyamide resin, as a curing agent, prepared by reacting a dimerized unsaturated fatty acid with a polyethylenepolyamine, fused silica powder as a filler, and γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane as a coupler. The epoxy resin, which can be used include bisphenol A-derived epoxy resin which has a structure in which hydroxyl groups which exhibit adhesiveness during curing are arranged at the interface of bonding, and is featured in bonding strength. The polyamide resin curing agent generate little heat during curing, forms a flexible cured product, and can be cured at a temperature as low as near room temperature, so that it has an advantage that it exerts little influence on the properties of fiber optics.
