    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for protecting a bearing part in guide rolls by which the sticking of powder, etc., to the vicinity of the bearing part in the guide rolls, is suppressed and thus, the deterioration of a cast slab quality caused by the faulty rotation of the guide rolls can be suppressed and drastic improvement of the service life of a segment can be obtained and also, at the occurrence of break-out, a continuous casting operation can be restored in a shorter time than before.
      SOLUTION: The bearing part protecting apparatus 10 for guide rolls, is used for a continuous casting facility 15 provided with a support roll segment 13 uniformly exchangeable with a mold 12 and the guide roll segment 14. The protecting apparatus 10 includes movable covers 16, 17 set to both sides in the width direction at the inlet side of the guide rolls 20, 21 in the guide roll segment 14 between the support roll segment 13 and the guide roll segment 14 and movable toward the center position in the width direction. During casting the cast slab 11, the movable covers 16, 17 for covering the bearing parts 22-25 at the inlet side of the guide rolls 20, 21, are set with gaps D1, D2 to the cast slab 11.

The mixture has a ratio of the bonding coat material in a range of 1/3-2/3 in mass.
