    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inhibiting slag adhesion to a refining vessel refractory occurring when performing refining treatment of molten metal using a refining agent containing no fluorine. SOLUTION: The method of inhibiting slag adhesion to the refining vessel refractory is characterized in that soda-lime glass is added into a refining vessel prior to or concurrently with the refining treatment of molten metal using the refining agent containing no fluorine. The refining treatment of molten metal is desulfurization treatment of molten iron and when a desulfurizing agent containing CaO, metallic Mg, MgO, burnt dolomite and Al dross is used as the refining agent containing no fluorine, the method exhibits the excellent effect. The refining treatment is any one of molten pig iron desulfurization treatment of a KR (Kanbara Reactor) process, torpedo-car molten pig iron desulfurization treatment, desulfurization treatment by injection of powder to the molten steel and molten steel vacuum degassing treatment.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desulfurization refining agent for effectively desulfurization-refining molten pig iron without using CaF

      SOLUTION: The desulfurization refining agent to be used in the mechanical stirring type desulfurization treatment for the molten pig iron includes granular iron in an amount of 1.5 to 5.0 mass%, FeO in a concentration of 2 to 7 mass%, and CaO in a concentration of 80 mass% or more. The desulfurization refining agent includes quicklime or a blend of quicklime and steelmaking slag, as a main raw material, and a magnetically separated powder from the steelmaking slag as an additive to the main raw material. This mechanical stirring type desulfurization method includes using the desulfurization refining agent. The desulfurization refining agent contains the granular iron, and accordingly has high density, is entangled in the molten pig iron in an early step of the desulfurization treatment to contribute to the desulfurization reaction and achieves remarkably high desulfurization efficiency in spite of containing no CaF

    • PURPOSE:To efficiently and economically prevent or restrain the vaporization of cooling water in the cooling plate and to prevent the breakage of the cooling plate by beforehand detecting a sign of the vaporization in the cooling plate and taking the preventing measure to the breakage of the cooling plate only in the necessary cooling system. CONSTITUTION:A part of the cooling plate 4 is exposed to the inside of the high temp. furnace 1 of a blast furnace caused by wearing of the furnace wall 11 and the temp. of the cooling water is raised. This condition can be confirmed by the sign phenomenon of the vaporization, by clouding phenomenon due to the generation of bubbles in the cooling water by visually checking the condition of drainage 5 in the cooling water for cooling plate. At the time of condirming this condition, immediately, e.g. a three-way valve 8 as directional change-over valve is manually operated, and a water supplying source is changed over into a high pressure water pipe 7 which has an original pressure higher than the pressure loss due to gas-liquid two phase flow in the cooling plate 4 and a supplying/draining water piping 3 system. By this method, the generation of the vaporization of the cooling water in cooling plate is prevented from happening or the vaporizing phenomenon after its occurring can be restrained and the breakage of the cooling plate can be prevented.
