    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing lump coal, with which lump coal with prescribed density and strength is stably produced.SOLUTION: The method for producing lump coal includes: a kneading step to knead fine powder coal and a binder and to generate a kneaded product; and a lumping step to lump the kneaded product, wherein in the kneading step the fine powder coal heated to 100 to 200°C is supplied to the inside of a kneading vessel 5, and moisture is supplied to the inside of the kneading vessel 5. It is preferable that the moisture is water vapor and temperature of the water vapor is not higher than +20°C, or not lower than -20°C compared with the temperature of the fine powder coal in the kneading vessel. It is preferable that the moisture is water vapor and a feed rate of the water vapor with respect to the fine powder coal is 0.3-20.0 kg/ton.
