Based on the extension difference ratio distribution and the actual tension distribution, distribution of local incident angles between the steering roll 4 and the metal strip 1 is calculated, and based on this result, the predicting quantity of the meandering is calculated. Under consideration of time delay to this predicted meandering quantity, from the time passing the metal strip 1 through the shape detector 5 to the time reaching the steering roll 4, the correct command is given to the steering roll 4.

CONSTITUTION:Metal, ceramics or the like are thermal-sprayed by a thermal spraying gun 1 while a roll 2 is rotated in the direction of the arrow, and immediately after that, laminated thermal spraying is applied while executing surface working to the surface of a thermally sprayed layer 3 by a circular grinding stone 4 or an abrasive cloth 5 fitted to a pressing jig 6 in the range of 1 to 15mum Ra roughness. The generation of the spitting defect caused by the inclusion of nonmelted grains, grains stuck to a thermally spraying gun or the like is prevented, and it can be worked to optional finish surface roughness at a low cost without requiring the formation of surface roughness by a special machining apparatus.

    • PURPOSE:To measure a change in reaction atmosphere, to sample a charge at a specific position, and to improve blast furnace operation by providing a charge sampling container in a vertically movable state atop of a tube body inserted into a blast furnace vertically. CONSTITUTION:The charge sampling container 20 is provided in the vertically movable state through a driving shaft 14 to the lower end of the tube body 9 of a vertical sonde inserted into the blast furnace near a gas sampling tube 15. When sampling is performed, the sonde 1 is suspended by a rope and a valve 4 is opened to insert the sonde into the furnace, and consequently the container 20 is lowered by its own weight together with the in-furnace charge to perform temperature measurement and gas sampling for a specific time, measuring a change in atmosphere. When the sonde reaches the specific position, the lowering of the main body is stopped and only the container 20 is suspended; and the change flows therein and the container is lifted. Therefore, the atmosphere is measured in the process of the lowering and the charge is sampled at the specific position to improve the blast furnace operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the adhesion of sprayed coating, at the time of projecting a thermal spray material obtd. by melting a thermal spray powder material onto the body to be thermally sprayed and executing thermal spraying, a vibrating the body to be thermally sprayed. SOLUTION: For example, at the time of projecting a thermal spray material in a half-melted state onto the body 2 to be thermally sprayed from a thermal spraying gun and forming sprayed coating 3, the thermal spraying is executed while the body 2 to be thermally sprayed is vibrated. Thus, the thermal spray material 1 projected onto the surface of the body 2 to be thermally sprayed deforms at the moment when it is in contact with the surface of the body 2 to be thermally sprayed, and in a state of being extended in the vibrating direction of the body 2 to be thermally sprayed and also in a way of being laminated, the mutual contact area expands, and the porosity in the sprayed coating 3 remarkably reduces to form into the sprayed coating 3 improved in denseness (the strength of the sprayed coating 3). Simultaneously, the contact relative rate between the thermal spray material 1 and the body 2 to be thermally sprayed increases to improve the adhesion of the sprayed coating 3 to the body 2 to be thermally sprayed.
