    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength hot-forged component having an endurance ratio of 0.43 or more.SOLUTION: A rolled steel bar for hot forging contains, by mass, 0.27-0.37% of C, 0.30-0.75% of Si, 1.00-1.45% of Mn, 0.008-0.030% of S, 0.05-0.30% of Cr, 0.005-0.050% of Al, 0.200-0.320% of V, 0.0040-0.030% of Ti, 0.0080-0.0200% of N, and the remainder comprising Fe with impurities, wherein, the following expression is satisfied: [1.05≤C+(1/10)Si+(1/5)Mn+(5/22)Cr+1.65V-(5/7)S≤1.18]. In the rolled steel bar, the number density of TiN having a size of 0.005 μm or more is ≥0.4 pieces/μm, and the maximum size of TiN in 160 mmis ≤30 μm. The rolled steel bar for hot forging may contain one or more of Cu, Ni, and Mo, provided that the following expression is satisfied: [1.05≤C+(1/10)Si+(1/5)Mn+(5/22)Cr+1.65V-(5/7)S+(1/5)Cu+(1/5)Ni+(1/4)Mo≤1.18].

The average composition of maximum oxide at the 30 points is composed of any one of specific 2-element to 4-element oxides with the contents being CaO: 2.0-20%, MgO: O-20%, SiO: 0-10%, and the balance AlO, and the average composition of maximum sulfide at the 30 points is composed of a 1-element sulfide with the content being CaS: 100%, or a specific 2-element or 3-element sulfide with CaS≥1.0%, MgS: 0-20%, and the balance MnS. The steel material may include specific amounts of Mn, Ni instead of a part of Fe.

In the structure of the hot rolled steel bar or the wire, a pearlite fraction is 90% or more, an average pearlite lamellar spacing is 150 to 300nm, and a standard deviation of the pearlite lamellar spacing is 25nm or less.
