    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant composition which is excellent in viscosity-temperature characteristic and low-temperature viscosity characteristic and can achieve adequate long-drain property and fuel cost saving effect. SOLUTION: The lubricant composition for an internal combustion engine comprises: a lubricant base oil having a viscosity index of ≥100, an initial boiling point of ≤400°C and a 90% distillation temperature of ≥470°C, wherein the value given by subtracting a 10% distillation temperature from the 90% distillation temperature is ≥70°C; an ash-free oxidation inhibitor not containing sulfur as a constituent element; and at least one selected from an ash-free oxidation inhibitor containing sulfur as a constituent element and an organic molybdenum compound. The lubricant base oil comprises a first lubricant base oil component having a urea adduct value of ≤4 mass%, a viscosity index of ≥100 and kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 3.5 to 2 /g, and a second lubricant base oil component having a urea adduct value of ≤4 mass%, a viscosity index of ≥120 and kinematic viscosity at 100°C of 4.5-20 mm 2 /g.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant oil composition which is excellent in fuel consumption saving and low-temperature viscosity, which can make the fuel consumption saving compatible with the low-temperature viscosity at ≤-35°C while maintaining high-temperature high-shear viscosity without use of a synthetic oil such as a poly-α-olefin based base oil and ester based base oil and a low-viscosity mineral oil based base oil. SOLUTION: The lubricant oil composition contains a lubricant base oil and a viscosity index improver. The lubricant base oil contains, as a major component, a lubricant base oil component that contains a saturated portion in an amount of ≥95 mass%, that has a value of ≤60 mass% as a cyclic saturated portion occupying the saturated portion, that has a viscosity index of ≥120 and that has a value of 15-20% as the ratio of ε-methylene occupying the constituting whole carbon. The viscosity index improver has a weight average mol.wt. of ≥50,000 and a value of ≥1×10 4 as the ratio of the weight average mol.wt. and PSSI and is added in an amount of 0.1-50 mass% based on the total amount of the lubricant oil composition.
