摘要： PURPOSE:To cut a joint for an electrode simply in a short period of time upon replacing the electrode for an electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:At first, a multitude of through holes are bored at vicinities along joints 13 between the electrode 12 and the periphery of electric furnace refractories by a drill 7 having a diameter equal to the width of the joint 13 or slightly smaller than the width, then, the joint 13, remaining in boundaries between said through holes, is crushed by a crusher 8 to cut the joint 13 whereby the joints can be cut simply in a short period of time without entering a worker into the electric furnace upon cutting the joints 13 and replacement of the electrode can be effected in a very short period of time.

摘要： PURPOSE:To cut a joint simply and in a short period of time when an electrode in an electric furnace is replaced. CONSTITUTION:First, a large number of through-holes adjacent to one another at intervals that cause no difficulty in pushing up or withdrawing an electrode 12 are bored in a joint 13 between the electrode 12 and an electric furnace refratory, which is provided around the electrode 12, along the portion of the joint 13 with a drill 7 having the same diameter as the width of the joint 13 or a diameter slightly smaller than the width thereof. In this state, the furnace bottom electrode 12 is forcibly pushed up or forcibly withdrawn to be removed by a removing device 31. In the case where it is not removed due to the remaining metal 14 and the like, the joint and the metal 14 remaining at boundary portions among the through-holes are crushed by a crusher 8 to cut the joint. By this method, when the joint is cut, it is unnecessary to make workers enter the interior of an electric furnace, and the joint can be cut simply and in a short period of time, thus the electrode can be replaced in a very short period of time.

摘要： PURPOSE:To shorten the working time of measuring the temperature of molten steel by a method wherein the present device is provided with an arm, supported rotatably on a traversing trestle, installed on an inclined floor around a furnace body, through a bearing and an arced lance, inserted into the inserting port of the side wall of the furnace body and equipped at the tip end of the arm. CONSTITUTION:A lance 12 is formed so as to have an arced shape and is attached to the tip end of an arm 13, corresponding to the radius of curvature of the arc. A probe is attached detachably to the tip end of the arm 13. A traversing trestle 15 is traversed, a lid 22 for the lance inserting port 21 of the side wall of a furnace body 3 is opened automatically, a rotating cylinder device 18 is operated to rotate a lever 19 about a rotary shaft by a predetermined angle. The arced lance 12 is operated about a rotating axis 12 and a probe 2 at the tip end thereof is invaded into molten steel 24 through the lance inserting port 21 to measure the temperature of the molten steel. The stroke of the lance is small and the operating speed of the same is quick in such a manner and therefore, times for the measurement of the temperature of the molten steel as well as sampling time can be shortened remarkably.
