Actuators, the data of which are held in the RAM, are limited to specified actuators, which necessitate no colsed loop control directly or, concretely in working example, are actuators for performing changing-over a discharge port and a suction port and for determining the output levels of a compressor, a water valve and a blower motor, the operating states of all of which can be held in monitor mode at the states as they were just before the shifting to the monitor mode.

Via the signal line 56 for monitor mode, the shifting to monitor mode is accomplished with a switch 37. Then, a timer T is reset to ''0''. The processing in monitor mode is to be carried out for a period of time controlled with the timer T. If the monitor signal is turned OFF in the midway of monitor mode, the processing in monitor mode is interrrupted and the state is returned to the step as was before the shifting to monitor mode. Accordingly, if the signal line 57 is left being turned ON for some trouble or other, the processing in monitor mode is accomplished for a certain fixed period of time T0 and, after that, the state is returned to the step as was before the shifting to monitor mode in order to accomplish normal operating control. consequently, monitor mode can be accomplished without impairing the original controlling function of the air conditioner.

According to the control signal inputted from the engine speed control unit 30, the compensator 40 controls a rotational frequency in the output shaft of a differential gear 50.
