CONSTITUTION:Magnesium oxide powder with 10m /g specific surface area or more is mixed with either copper oxide powder or copper hydroxide powder, the mixture is molded and then heated and formed. A mixed compounded body having 50%-80% mole content ratio of a magnesium oxide particle and containing mixed copper oxide particle is used as a carbonic acid gas detecting element main body 1, at least a pair of electrodes 2 of at least one kind of metal elements are formed on the element main body 1, and carbonic acid gas is detected based on the change of the impedance or the resistance value of the element main body 1 as an index.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a uniform zeolite film a almost free from defects and having superior separating performance by forming a zeolite film on a porous substrate by hydrothermal synthesis using a sol of composite colloid consisting of silica and a metal oxide other than silica in a stock soln. SOLUTION: A stock soln. is prepd. by mixing NaOH with tetrapropylammonium bromide(TPABr), distilled water, a sol of alumina-silica composite colloid and a silica sol so that the molar ratio of TPABr:Na2 O:Al2 O3 : SiO2 :H2 O is regulated to 0.1:0.05:0.01:1:80. A cylindrical porous alumina substrate 3 is put in an autoclave, this autoclave is evacuated to expel bubbles from the substrate 3 and the ports in the substrate 3 are filled with the stock soln. A zeolite film 2 is formed on the substrate 3 by hydrothermal synthesis by holding at 170 deg.C under 8atm for 72hr and the substrate 3 is subjected to ultrasonic cleaning in hot water at 80 deg.C. Distilled water at ordinary temp. is substd. for the hot water and the substrate 3 is dried at 100 deg.C for 24hr and heat-treated at 600 deg.C for 2hr to remove the residual TPABr in the film.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inspection method in which a film formation state is judged by a nondestructive optical inspection capable of being used after the inspection and in which the existence of a defect in an inorganic separation film can be inspected by a method wherein a porous support is impregnated with an impregnating substance having a specific refractive index so as to be made transparent. SOLUTION: A porous support is impregnated with an impregnating substance having a specific refractive index, only the porous support is made transparent, and whether a defect exists in an inorganic separation film or not can be judged. For example, in the shape of a laminated body in which a zeolite film (an inorganic separation film) is laminated on an alumina support, the zeolite film is carried by the support. Since both the zeolite film and the alumina support are white, the laminated body becomes white as a whole, and a defect cannot be detected. Then, when the laminated body is impregnated with diiodomethane, only the alumina support becomes transparent, and the part of the zeolite film can be observed. When the surface of the zeolite film is observed, it is not changed from a state before the laminated body is impregnated as long as no defect exists. When a crack exists, a stripe-shaped crack can be confirmed.
