By a method wherein the layer 3 of gelcoat resin is piled up with pasty epoxy resin 6, or the layer 3 of gelcoat resin is stuck with the sheet 5 of pasty epoxy resin preliminarily prepared and the pasty epoxy resin 6 is piled up thereto, the close adhesion completely excluding air can be obtained for the adhesion of the layer 4 of epoxy resin to the layer 3 of gelcoat resin.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a masking jig capable of surely and rapidly performing masking and being reused, constituted by providing an edge part, which is fixed to an article to be painted and can follow the extension and contraction of the article to be painted, to the peripheral edge of a film made of a material impervious to the paint and having elasticity. CONSTITUTION:A masking jig 3 consists of a freely extensible heat resistant film 3a impervious to a paint and thick walled mold parts 3c provided to both ends thereof and a strip shaped freely extensible edge part 3b is provided to the peripheral edge of said film 3a. For example, when a resin bumper 2 is painted, the mold part 3c are introduced into the groove 2b of the bumper 2 under pressure and, thereafter, the edge part 3b is stretched to inlay the other end mold part 3c with the groove 2b and applied to a non-painting surface B. At this time, the edge part 3b is formed in a width wider than that of the groove 2b and pushed in the groove 2b and certainly fixed thereto. A cover jig 5 is further applied to make the setting of the jig 3 sure and the adhesion of the paint to the film part 3a is prevented to paint a painting surface A while the paint is baked.

CONSTITUTION:In forming ornamental colored coating on the surface of a synthetic resin bumper 2 for an automobile dividedly along its longitudinal direction, said bumper 2 is mounted on a cradle 9, its part B to be uncoated is covered with a masking jig 3 made of a heat resistant expansible material such as rubber, silicone or urethane, and mooring jigs 3c at both ends are locked to locking jigs 4 on a bench 1. Stringy edge members 3b are attached to the sides of the masking jig 3, and the width of the jig 3 is made larger than that of the part B to be uncoated divided by a groove 2b. When the masking jig 3 is pulled with the mooring jigs 3c at both ends, it is made narrower to the same width as that of the part B to be uncoated. Hence, the edge members 3b are inlaid in the groove 2b.
