    • PURPOSE:To enable free setting to be attained of a position by providing an actuator to be arranged almost in parallel with the center of a rotary shaft of a rotary drum in a manner, wherein an acting direction of the actuator is orthogonal with the direction of a brake band in its connecting and releasing action, and suitably setting an arranging position of the actuator, shape of a direction change lever and its length. CONSTITUTION:A brake band 33, supported in its fixed end part 33a by an anchor end pin 6 fixed to a transmission case further in the movable end part 33b by a strut 7, is tightened to a rotary drum by moving the strut 7 in its stroke to the left direction. And a hydraulic actuator 8 is arranged so that its operating direction (b) is in a direction parallel with an axial direction (a) of the rotary drum further orthogonal with an operating direction (c) of the brake band 33. While a piston stem 8a is connected being able to transmit drive power to the strut 7 through a direction change lever 9. By this constitution, a position for providing the hydraulic actuator 8 can be freely set by suitably setting a shape of the direction change lever 9 and its length.

    • PURPOSE:To form easily a drain passage of an auxiliary transmission side by forming a drain passage for communicating a lube oil reservoir with the opposite side of a lube oil reservoir of the friction element, between the outer surface lower part of a piston drum and an auxiliary transmission case. CONSTITUTION:The second piston drum 152 of a reduction brake composing an auxiliary epicycle transmission gear 114 is formed separately from an auxiliary transmission case 134. Owing to this reason, a drain passage 170 for communicating the chamber 162 side of a reduction brake with the oil pan 133 side of the reduction brake can be formed by the forming of a channel part 168 simultaneously with the molding of the auxiliary transmission case 134, without any machine work when the second piston drum 152 is attached. Consequently, the processing of the drain 170 is remarkably simplified in cooperation with the integral forming of the auxiliary transmission case 134 so that the productivity of the auxiliary transmission is improved and a large cost down can be aimed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the direct shifting to a high-speed position of an automatic transmission in which the shock of shifting is reduced by selecting the high- speed position when a selector lever is changed from an N position to a D position, by providing an idle control valve. CONSTITUTION:An idle control valve 17 is provided for an automatic transmission with three forward shift positions, in which the shock of shifting from an N position to a D position is reduced by engaging a high and reverse clutch H & R/C and a forward clutch F/C to put the transmission in the third position. The port 18a of the valve 17 is connected to the servo-apply chamber S/A of a band brake. The port 18b of the valve 17 is connected to an oil passage 22, to which pressurized oil is supplied when a manual valve is in a D, N or R position. An oil pressure rise delay means (orifice) 30 is provided in the oil passage 22. The port 18e of the valve 17 is connected to a port 26, which can be opened and closed by a solenoid 27 coupled to an accelerator pedal switch 28.
