摘要： PURPOSE:To secure a high-sensitivity detection for the position of the information medium by providing each detection part to the transmitter of the optical signal featuring plural different central wavelengths in correspondence to each central wavelength and then varying the specified wavelength through each detection part owing to the presence of the information medium. CONSTITUTION:No leaked substance which becomes to be the information medium comes in form fluid transport path 1 to each of detection parts 71-7n of optical transmission line 4 as far as path 1 has no leak trouble. As a result, no change is caused to the optical signal transmitted to light reception part 6 from light transmission part 5 to display the normal state at part 6. In case the leak trouble occurs at, for example, detection section l1, optical filter 10 intrudes into detection part 71 by the weight of the leaked substance. As a result, only central wavelength lambda1 has a change, and wave lambda1 enters receiver 61 with the optical level change. Thus this state is analyzed at receiver 61 to show the presence of the leaked substance at section l1. In such way, the presence and the position of the information medium, i.e., the leaked substance can be detected in a high sensitivity.

摘要： PURPOSE:To detect leakege by detecting photo coupling caused by the leakage from a transmission line by arranging two photo transmitters, available for photo coupling, along an information detection area. CONSTITUTION:Photo transmission lines 4A and 4B are locally in close parallel in detection sections 71...7n. When no leakage accident occurrs to fluid passage 1, photo pulses sent out by light sending part 5 reaches only photo detection part 6A. Once a leakage immerses in space 8, the photo pulses of photo transmitter 4A is branched to photo transmitter 4B by photo coupling and they can also be detected by photo detection part 6B. Making the propagation speed of photo transmission line 4A higher than that of line 4B produces a difference in time between photo pulses detected by photo detection parts 6A and 6B, so that a section where leakage is occurring can be detected.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make it possible to precisely measure the base band characteristic without any influence caused by disturbance such as a modal noise by employing an optical signal luminance-modulated by a measurement signal capable of frequency sweep and a reference signal of a low frequency signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal of frequency f1 transmitted from an oscillator 11 capable of frequency sweep and a signal of frequency f2 transmitted from an oscillator 12 whose oscillation frequency is fixed are mixed together in a mixer 13. The thus mixed signals are transmitted to a bias circuit 2 where they luminance- modulate an optical signal emitted from a semiconductor laser 3. The optical signal is made incident on one end of an optical fiber 4 to be measured. The optical signal emerging from the other end thereof is converted into an electric signal by means of a light-receiving element 5. This signal is inputted through an amplifier 6 to a branching filter 14 where the components of frequency f1 and frequency f2 are taken out. The components are respectively demodulated by selective level meters 15 and 16. Thereafter, an amplitude ratio of the thus demodulated signal is obtained by virtue of a ratio meter 17 and is then transmitted to an indicator 8. With this process, the disturbant elements are offset, whereby the precise base band characteristic can be measured.

CONSTITUTION:An optical transmitter 4 is arranged along an information detection zone L, through which optical transmitter 4 detection of information such as leakage is carried out. The optical transmitter 4 consistes of optical fibers or an optical fiber cable, i.e. a collection of optical fibers, one end thereof is arranged with a light delivering portion 5, and the other end thereof is arranged with a light receiver 6. The optical transmitter 4 is divided into detection sections l1-l5 which have corresponding detection portions 71 to 7n. An optical signal is transmitted from the light delivering portion 5 to the light receiver 6, and its state is monitored at the light receiver 6 to perform the information detection of the leakage from a delivering path 1 as an information media.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure accurately the amount of eccentricity of a core and the outside diameter of an optical fiber by measuring the optical fiber to be measured by using a multicore fiber as an optical fiber for the reference of measurement. CONSTITUTION:The end parts of both optical fibers 3 and 4 are set in a V-shaped groove board 8 whose V-shaped groove has an angle of 60 deg. and the respective end surfaces are opposed to each other. The optical fiber 4 for the reference of measurement is set so that the straight line connecting the centers O1 and O2 of both cores 6 and 7 is in accord with the vertical center line of the V-shaped groove and that the core 7 is positioned upper-most. An optical pulse is passed through both optical fibers 3 and 4 and the level of photoreception is monitored while the optical fiber 3 to be measured is being rotated. From the level of photoreception obtained from both cores 6 and 7, the maximum and minimum losses thereof are measured simultaneously and the outside diameter and the amount of eccentricity of the core are found.

Light-collecting optical fiber 12 should have the core diameter and NA greater than those of optical fiber 4 to be measured by several - tens times. Thus, light is made to inject optical fiber 4 with the stable quantity of the light.

摘要： PURPOSE:To perform measurement of transmission loss by obtaining incident power from the difference between the power of light from a specified light source and the power of light not incident to the optical transmission line by connecting the optical transmission line to the light source and further measuring exit power. CONSTITUTION:Light of the light source 4 of a light detecting vessel 1 using an integrating sphere is detected with a photo detector 2 and the power P1 of said light is measured. Next, the incident end 5a of an optical transmission line 5 is connected to the light source 4 and the light source 4 is let to emit light. The power P2 of light of this time is likewise measured with the photo detector 2. Thereafter, the exit power P4 is obtained at the exit end 5b of the optical transmission line 5 with a photo detector 6, and transmission loss is obtained from N=-10logP4/P1-P2. Hence, repeated measurements are feasible without cutting the optical transmission line and reliability may be enhanced because the incident power is obtained from the operation difference of the powers P1 and P2 and the transmission loss is computed from the relation between this and the exit power P4.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure losses of an optical fiber to be measured and connection losses at the same time, by interposing and connecting the optical fiber to be measured between standard optical fibers and passing an optical signal from an imitative transmission system to an imitative reception system. CONSTITUTION:A standard optical fiber 6A is connected to a light source 2 and a standard optical fiber 6B is connected to a photodetector 4 and then, an optical fiber to be measured 7 is connected between both optical fibers 6A and 6B. Both fibers 6A, 6B are optical fibers of the same specification obtained by dividing a single optical fiber into sections, and the fibers having the standard value at the time of constituting a desired transmission passage are used. A prescribed optical signal is given from the light source 2 of an imitative transmission system to the photodetector 4 of an imitative reception system and a photodetecting level at the time of the light transmission is detected by a level detector 5. The photodetecting level is the value including not only losses of each optical fiber 6A, 6B and 7 but also connection losses.
