    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sealing an electric galvanizing line drying furnace, capable of increasing a furnace temperature by improving the sealing performance of a flange of the drying furnace, and free from problems on oxidation of a steel shell and damage to lining due to the generation of a clearance gap on a refractory material lining part in the furnace. SOLUTION: A heating area 1, a soaking area 2 and a throat area 3 respectively have a structure formed by lining the refractory material on a steel shell. This method includes a process for pressure bonding a fire-resisting seal member obtained by packing ceramic fiber with alumina cloth with compression rate of 50-70%, from a flange joining part of at least one of the heating area 1 and a soaking area 2, and the throat area 3 to a lining refractory material part adjacent to the flange joining part, a process for arranging by sliding and inserting the throat part to a clearance gap between the compressed fire-resisting seal member and the heating area or the soaking area, and a process for expanding the fire-resisting seal member by weakening the compression force after disposing the throat part.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive skid for a walking beam type heating furnace having excellent durability.
      SOLUTION: The skid 1 comprises a skid pipe 3, a plurality of skid buttons 2 protruded on an upper part of the skid pipe 3 to support a steel member, and monolithic refractory 5 to cover the skid pipe 3. A plurality of protective plates 7 are protruded in a flange shape from the monolithic refractory 5 with intervals in the longitudinal direction of the skid pipe 3 and erected on the skid pipe 3. When the steel member is lifted by the movable skid and the steel member with its tip bent downwardly falls, the tip is received by the protective plates 7 to prevent damages of the monolithic refractory 5 caused by the collision of the steel member.
