摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust manifold integral type metal carrier and manufacture therefor which is of integral type from an exhaust manifold to a catalyst device without using flanges, thus preventing generation of exhaust gas leakage and cracking of welds due to thermal fatigue as well as providing weight reduction due to no use of flanges. SOLUTION: This integral type metal carrier is provided with an exhaust manifolds, 1, 2 consisting of carbon steel thin plate, tubing or casting whose surface has enriched layer of either of Cr or Al or both of them, flanges 3, 4 of carbon steel intermediate plate whose surface has enriched layer of either of Cr or Al or both of them, and a honeycomb 5 of carbon steel foil formed by enriching Cr or Al or both of them.

CONSTITUTION: A diffusing agent contg. Al is filled into a metallic carrier consisting of a honeycomb body consisting of flat foil 3 and corrugated foil 4 and a jacket 5. They are heated to a sufficiently high temp. for the diffusion joining of the foils 3, 4 to simultaneously carry out diffusion joining and cementation. Since the cementation of Al into the joined parts is not required, the objective metallic carrier is produced in a short period.

摘要： PURPOSE: To impart heat resistance to an iron or iron-based alloy honeycomb and to carry out high reliability joining between the corrugated foil and flat foil of the honeycomb while avoiding the remarkable deterioration of the material by joining the contact points of the foils and the contact points of the honeycomb and a jacket with diffusion layers enriched with Cr and Al. CONSTITUTION: When a metallic honeycomb 1 is subjected to cementation treatment so as to impart heat resistance and bonding strength, cementation treatment is carried out using a Cr-based diffusing agent whose Cr content is higher than the Al content. By this treatment, high reliability joining is carried out and satisfactory heat resistance is imparted in spite of such a relatively low extent of cementation as not to cause the remarkable deterioration of the material. When a diffusing agent contg. >=2 times (wt.) as much Cr as Al is used, the activity of Al is moderately controlled and the adhesion and cementation of Cr and Al are carried out at narrow-gap parts around the contact points of the corrugated foil 3 and the flat foil 2 of the honeycomb 1 as well as at the other part. As a result, joining is carried out with diffusion layers enriched with Cr at >=2wt.% concn. and Cr+Al at 12-30wt.% concn.

摘要： PURPOSE: To produce an oxidation resistant molybdenum material having stable oxidation resistance even under a service environment where heating is applied up to high temp. in an atmosphere containing oxygen and water vapor and further load is applied and friction is brought about. CONSTITUTION: In order to obtain the oxidation resistant molybdenum material, first a base material is formed by applying recrystallization treatment to molybdenum bar, wire, plate or parts, which are prepared by means of plastic working such as rolling, wire drawing and casting, to form stretched crystalline grains having a ratio of major axis to minor axis of >=10, and then performing secondary working. Then, a compounded diffusion agent is prepared by mixing a metal powder consisting of at least one kind among Si powder, powder mixture of Si powder and Al powder, FeCrSi alloy powder, and CrSi alloy powder, a halogen compound powder, and an Al2 O3 powder so that the amount of Si in all of the powders is regulated to 10-80%. Heat treatment is performed at 1000-1300 deg.C in a nonoxidizing atmosphere and a reducing atmosphere by using the compounded diffusion agent, by which at least two layers of an MoSi2 layer excellent in oxidation resistance and an Mo5 Si3 layer having a thermal expansion coefficient close to that of the MoSo2 layer are formed on the outermost surface side on the above base material and on the side face of the above base material, respectively.

摘要： PURPOSE:To decrease the produced amount of slag greatly by discharging the greater portion of produced slag after desilicating molten iron and then performing a dephosphorizing and a desulfurizing treatment by using a CaO treating agent, and performing decarbonization by adding a small amount of a slag making agent in the presence of a small remaining amount of produced slag. CONSTITUTION:After molten iron is desilicated, produced slag is suctionally discharged from above by a slag cleaner. Then, a CaO treating agent, such as CaO-CaCl2 flux, is blown by injection without the molten iron replaced, thereby performing dephosphorization and desulfurization. Then, the great portion, or about 80% of the produced slag is suctionally discharged again by a slag cleaner. Further, the molten iron is sent to a decarbonizing furnace, where a small amount of a slag making agent, such as CaO, is added for a decarbonizing treatment.

CONSTITUTION:In divided refining of molten iron, the fluidity of formed slag is not sufficient depending upon the ways of treatments in respective stages, and this makes the suction and discharge of the slag by a suction type slag cleaner extremely difficult. In such a case, for example >=1 kind of CaF2 sintered ore, pulverized iron ore, etc. are used as a fluidity improving agent for the formed slag. The sintered ore is particularly preferable because it contains a proper amt. of SiO2 other than iron oxide. These fluidity improving agents are added to the molten iron at the end period of the treatment stages or after the treatments or between the last period of the treatment stage and after the end of the treatments to form slag, and the formed slag is removed by suction.
