摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To liquefy a kind of coal at a low cost under operating conditions with a small amount of consumed hydrogen and a high yield of the liquefied oil by determining a relationship between the amount of hydrogen required for producing a product liquefied oil and the yield of a product liquefied oil in advance and using high- temperature and high-pressure hydrogen. SOLUTION: A coal is mixed with a solvent for liquefying the coal and a catalyst for liquefying the coal to provide a slurry, which is then pressurized and heated with hydrogen to carry out the hydrogenolysis. Thereby, a crude liquefied oil is obtain. Then the oil is distilled under atmospheric or a reduced pressure and separated into a product, liquefied oil and a liquefaction residue. The resultant heavy oil is pressurized, heated and hydrogenated by using a catalyst for hydrogenating the solvent to produce the solvent for liquefying the coal. When the prepared solvent is circulated and used for slurrying the coal and liquefying the coal, the relationship between the amount of hydrogen consumed for producing the product liquefied oil and the yield of the product liquefied oil is determined for the kind of coal which is a raw material under plural operating conditions in advance. Thereby, operating conditions with a small amount of the hydrogen consumed for producing the product liquefied oil and a high yield of the product liquefied oil are read therefrom to perform the operations.
